Forums - Movies & TV - George Lucas reviews Star Wars The Force Awakens

After Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said George Lucas had seen the upcoming Star Wars film and that he had "liked it", Vulture went to Kennedy Center Honors in Washington on Sunday to ask the man himself who was to be honored for his lifetime achievements in arts and culture.

When asked if it was true that he had seen the film already, Lucas confirmed he had and went on to say what he thought of the movie:

“I think the fans are going to love it,” he said. “It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for.”

So there you have it. I know all of you respect George a lot and that some of you were on the fence of whether to watch the movie or not since it didn't have him helming the whole thing, so now you can rest assured George thinks you'll like it.

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

He would not tell us if he didn't like it. Bottom line... Disney makes great movies! Thats enough for me to by a ticket.

Well, he did direct the prequels, so that's not reassuring. (Joking, I have my ticket on pre-order, and I'm going to a screening of the three originals this weekend to prepare.)

Didn't the creator of Terminator say genysis was a great movie?

Unless something changes, I'm going to pass. I don't need Disney's idea of a politically/racially correct Star Wars universe so that they can try to broaden it's demographics.

Whoa. Seriously?

Everyone is white in galaxies far far away, so black jedi knights can't be possible. Disney is going off-canon here

God. that's a terrible thing to say. I've never imagined that someone on this forum would write something like that.

Well then technically George Lucas went off-canon first.

The original canon isn't canon, silly. ;-O

Good to know.
