Everyone must have seen this clip by now:

The options there are an interesting addition to the franchise and many are wondering if it will affect the actual game or even the outcome. What if it doesn't affect anything in the game but what if there's some interesting editing going on in that video? Watch that section carefully and note how the camera slowly pans up and then slowly pans down a few seconds later. It could be said that it's doing the job it's intended to do, and that is to indicate a passing of time and so give Drake a chance to explain to his brother the ins and outs of  the scene picked. For me though, it's just a tad too short for that ... So what am I getting at?

Possible answer: When the camera pans up we are taken back to the scene described and we get to play that scene redone for Uncharted 4. Three different scenarios, all playable in Uncharted 4.

I dont think they'll let you play the scenario - maybe it actually fades out or maybe it'll show a collection of cutscenes that refer to whichever game/story you chose.

Would be interesting if the conversations later in the game change depending on what choice you make.

I just hope this doesnt lead to "multiple" endings kinda like Mass Effect ~.~.

Each one could be cut down into pretty short scenarios. For instance, the one the user picked in this demo was on the boat in the first game. All the scenario needs to be in this case is the fight on the boat and the rescue by Sully.

It is a decent idea, but I think it will just be a simple passing of time.

It would probably frustrate quite a few fans who have already played the previous games to death, as well as affecting the pacing of the new story and character introduction.

I have to disagree. The pacing in that scene is very unlike most Uncharted games. An injection of high adventure there would be a perfect counterbalance to the sedate nature of the scene, giving that whole scene a completely different and unique feeling. We, as the player, are expected to reminisce and fill in that scene with our minds eye and then when the camera sweeps back down we're supposed to feel nostalgia at actually haviing played that scene before and so know exactly what he's just told his brother. It would be a slight problem for people who had never played the original games, not a great problem but definitely something that would not have the impact it would have for those who HAD played the scene before. Give everyone the opportunity to play those scenes again and everyone understands and feels something, and of course it offers some replayability.

I'm just suspicious of that cut as I'm suspicious of the cut from inside to outside in the jeep chase scene.

Interesting. But it's only a theory. A Game Theory!

I think it's just passing of time. You should also watch the panel on uncharted and Neil said something interesting about that. Watched it in person so I don't currently know where to find it.

I watched it but I do not trust ND, they're renowned for deliberately leading you astray in order to preserve the surprises when the game comes out.

The real surprise is that they overlay the cut with "Buy Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and experience all these wonderful scenes and more! Now only $49.99!"

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

nah. sorry. that is way too utopic.

I'm having a hard time thinking of a single example of Naughty Dog trying to lead us astray.  I think they tend to unload with both barrels when they show off what they're working on.
