I agree, I do not know if VR will EVER go "mainstream"

we'll see. i might just pick up psvr because i have plenty of disposable income but my expectations are low when it comes to software support.
i agree whit the AR part, but not whit VR...
damn, you need to test current gen VR, it's amazing, miles ahead of VR in the past. Sure VR is not perfect, but i realy think that current gen VR make a huge impact in games.
Without a doubt.
The price factor is simply too much for what is being offered in 2015(16)

So Hololens isn't ready for gaming yet (with the fov issues) and far too expensive for a good while.
Meanwhile VR is gaining traction with plenty of interesting games coming. Can't wait to give this a try

Totally agree, both VR and AR are a ways away from being very mainstream.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
Sure. First all the stupid early adopters need to betatest it and supply the industry with some money to do some proper stuff in 10 years.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Sounds liek some one with some serious jellyness.
Me i have no issues spending money on experiences, maye thats the real issue.
I seriously doubt that. Not just because the tech is pretty much ready, or because there seems to be a big push from developers and publishers to support it.
No, the biggest reason I think VR will be mainstream sooner than he says is because we have an ad running at work for a VR viewmaster from Mattel. VR is going to be a thing in one form or another.
Bet with Adamblaziken:
I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.
