Forums - Gaming - Opinion: Microsoft, Sony and all the Big third party publishers need to follow Nintendo's route.

Microsoft, Sony and all the Big third party publishers need to follow Nintendo's route in regards to content claiming especially on youtube. There is way too much money being left on the table for them not to. Can you imagine if Microsoft content claim Minecraft? They will make millions over night. There will still be people willing to stream their games regardless no matter what. And the big youtubers like Angry Joe will still have to cover their games because if they don't they will lose a huge audience. Since Angry Joe won't cover Nintendo games anymore you know there will be someone who is still willing to cover it and thus steal a huge audience from Angry Joe.

I am speaking from a business stand point.

Its sorta greedy... and the lets players on youtube would almost die out.
Twitch.tv streamers would survive it due to them getting support from subs ect, in form of donations.

also whos to say, that loseing all those "lets players" on youtube, wouldnt end up costing abit of sales as well (eg. people buy games they watch lets plays off of).

It might end up not really netting you much of anything, and p***ing off alot of people for no reason then.

Lets players can get on twitch or use patreon. If they didn't jump on the twitch or patreon band wagon they digged their own grave. I hope they all pull this. EA should definatly do this because of all the sports games. Lets players won't make much of a difference in sales and the fact that there will still be people streaming it as a hobby and accept donations as a side income.

I'm not sure it makes sense even from a business standpoint. I don't have numbers, but I would imagine there isn't that much money to be gained. And obviously it generates a lot of negative publicity, as well as reducing the amount of videos and thus visibility, which in turn could reduce profits. In short, I don't think it's worth it, even if there's potential for some profits.

From a non-business standpoint, it's a prick move.

Have to agree. Not enough though, there's more they should do:

Increase game prices from 60 to 100 dollars
Make 50 dollar season passes a common practice with every release
Increase PS+ and Live prices to at least 25 dollars a month
Used-games killing DRM
Release new console models every year and block the previous ones from playing new games

Speaking from a business standpoint of course.

I actually agree with drm / online checks. We might get more exciting new ips.

I don't think anyone is gonna follow Nintendo's route on anything. It's quite obvious that what the people who need to follow are doing is working for them. What's working for Nintendo?

PC GAMING: BEST GAMES. WORST CONTROLS

A mouse & keyboard are made for sending email and typing internet badassery. Not for playing video games!!!

Profits on Amiibos... instead of makeing profits from really good games, they make plastic figurines instead.
