What's the point of showing game footage a year before the game's launch? They hyped everyone at TGA14 but in the end they didn't profit from them. At E3 Nintendo said they want to focus more on games which releases are closer. That's what they're doing with Zelda Wii U. It's a waste of money to promote that game that early. People will forget what they've seen and you have to show them even more later that it wasn't completely useless. In the end they would show too much from the game. And people won't have a "Wow" effect then.

Whats the point of announcing a game years before the game's launch?

I have a feeling that the nx has alot to do with it. I also have a feeling that showing it would expose the fact that it's become, predominantly, an nx title. Yes, I'm saying, I think zelda has become an nx exclusive title. They have more to gain by pushing it on nx, than to release it on both.

I understand delays but I don't understand 1 year delays. Regardless of who's doing it, how do you look at a game and not know it's a whole year out extra than planned? imagine how much work can be done In a year, how do you not see that missing?

There's only 2 races: White and 'Political Agenda'
2 Genders: Male and 'Political Agenda'
2 Hairstyles for female characters: Long and 'Political Agenda'
2 Sexualities: Straight and 'Political Agenda'

Agreed. If your goal is to not give out info intill it's close to launch. Don't even tell us of its existance, in the first place. Litterly tell us half a year, or less, before actual release. But not the day of release. Like Sega Saturn.

The Zelda team, and specifically Aonuma, has a bad habit of derailing an entire production to go chasing after some new idea that pops up when the game's already well underway.

Fallout 4 is the perfect example of how games should be revealed.

Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and every developer should take notes from Bethesda on this particular case.

"Here is the trailer guys, the game comes out in 10 months"

BOOM. They hype peaked at it highest when the release date comes.

I'm guessing they simply want to hold back on really showing the game until it is closer to release. Maybe they feel that way people won't whine as much about the delay since it will be more obvious it's not close to done yet? They are adamant on confirming it will be on Wii U still, even if it's not exclusive. Even if it is multi platform with NX, I see no reason that would be what's stopping them from showing the Wii U version either. So all I can think is it has something to do with the way they want to market it. Don't show much until like 6 months out from release.

Anyone that says they gave up on Zelda Wii U knows they will come right back in when we see a new trailer haha.

At this stage I don't think my mind will be at ease until I hold the game in my hands. I still half expect them to announce at E3 that it's moved to NX and delayed to 2017.

I want to think that they saw what Xenoblade x had become and thought that they needed to go big this time. If only they would add that verticality from Xenoblade X and those caves... from the little we have seen I'm sure this Zelda is going to be almost perfect, they want to impress everyone again. And I'll say it again, this Zelda is going to have things from all the games in the franchise to celebrate the 30th anniversary and that takes time :P
Also I'm ok with those 13 seconds. The more they keep for themselves the bigger the surprise will be.
