As you mentioned earlier, Aonuma has been spread out pretty thin this generation so that might be a pretty reasonable explanation. Plus, you also mentioned XCX being similar since it was announced in 2013 and it kept getting updates but hell these didn't really start until late last year/early this year. There was a long period for silence regarding that title and for SMT x FE (now #FE) as well. The only way I can explain this is that Nintendo had some internal goings-on this generation that caused stuff to be put on the back burner while somethings got straightened out.
But hey I'm just happy that this isn't a Last Guardian situation all over again.

That's not exactly correct.

For Xenoblade X:

Jan 2013 direct -trailer announcement

E3 2013 - trailer

E3 2014 - trailer

E3 2014 - treehouse gamplay

Nov 2014 direct - trailer

2015 constant updates

In the case of Zelda Wii U:

E3 2014 - teaser trailer

TGA 2014 - off screen footage of an empty world

Nov 2015 direct - 13 seconds unworthy footage

While we got at least 4 trailers and gameplay for X a year before its release, for Zelda we got 2 teasers and off screen footage.

I think you are reading to much into this. I think it's just Nintendo being Nintendo. They are weird like that sometimes and things they do can't be exlained. But 13sec of footage the whole year that was supposed to see the launch of the game happen is pathetic.

Atleast give us a official title for the game! I'm tired of calling this game ''Zelda U'' when I very well know that I won't even be playing it on my WiiU.

A minute trailer with the subtitle would have been enough.

Agree.

Just to go back to my ''Nintendo is weird'' statement. When you think about it, we did'nt even get a trailer yet. We had 1video of Aonuma talking in front of a green screen where we see the grass, it then end with Link running away from a monster, but still not a proper trailer. And then we got footage of Aonuma and Myamoto playing the game at the VGAs, (video in which BOTH Myamoto and Aonuma confirmed StarFox and Zelda respictavly launching in 2015, looking back it's either pathetic of funny).

Basicaly, the game got announced with Aonuma's face saying ''look at the grass, you can go to those mountains, the world is peacefull... blahblahblah''. WHO THE HELL ANNOUNCE A GAME LIKE THIS?! Give us a trailer with some epic zelda music. They just don't know how to appeal to ppl. Aonuma speaking about his project will never make up for a real trailer.

Well here's what I think...

- They saw how much effort got into put Xenoblade and wanted to top it
- They felt releasing it during the 30th Anniversary of Zelda made sense it this game is going back to what people really loved about Zelda
- The NX is releasing next year so they wanted to replicate Twilight Princess success and release it on both Wii U and NX.

Yep, still, why to not show it?

to keep people talking aabout the game.

13 seconds is still better than what Paper Mario, Metroid, F-Zero, and countless other franchises got. If you look at it that way, you should be thankful.

Exactly my point. There's a million of fanmade trailers but not even one official. What the hell? A trailer last year rather than the footage would have been better, but maybe they don't have enough footage to make one, maybe not enough that looks good.

People can talk about it even with footage.

Looking back you are right about XCX being at E3 2014, I could have sworn it was absent but I guess Splatoon and other things covered it up. Looking back on it now my thought is that the game is proving to be a pretty huge endeavor and that they announced it too early... And I doubt Nintendo would beat around the bush with the game (Zelda games aren't really that risky and sell a good amount). I guess we will have to be patient and wait Pavo.

Yeah I don't need to see a ton of the game until launch, personally. Game companies showing off TOO much has become a problem in recent years. Leave us shit to be surprised by.

Well they should probably show enough of it to where you're not buying it on name alone.

The only thing that would justify the secrets and delaying, and the name being hidden. Is if this Zelda game involves jumping between the games. Example: One dungeon requires you to go to OOT world and deal with a boss. That has entered it. ALA Back To The Future Part II time changes.

That is really the only thing I could think of, that hasn't been done in a Zelda. Why the game is taking so long. And the title being not revealed. I'm probably nowhere near right. And it will probably end up being some generic reason of the usual Nintendo polish.

I gave up on Zelda U. Nintendo can kill any hype for any game without reasons.
I just pretend this game doesn't exist. It easier that way.

Yeah, I've been much happier since I just blocked Zelda off my radar.

I just got so sick of the whole travesty. "Zelda is definitely coming 2015. Sike! Delayed indefinitely, not shown at E3, 13 seconds of footage in the entire year it was supposed to launch in. Prease understand!"
