Going further, can you consider "Nintendo" a developer? They are a publisher. They have several development teams. It's not like any single of those development teams have released more than one game this year.

To me it seems unfair to compare the combined software output of several inhouse development teams a publisher owns, to the output of single teams from other publishers.

I do consider a studio that is owned by Nintendo, like Retro or Monolith, as part of a Nintendo internal studio. They after all belong to Nintendo.I see Monolith and retro names more of a teams name, rather than a "separate" studio. And I think its fair. The developer award is meant to see who has the better input/quality throught the year, no matter the size. Its not meant to be "fair".

Okay, in that case you have to consider everything Nintendo has made throughout the year, including stuff like Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival, Mario Party 10, etc. You can't only cherry pick the best titles they released this year, and say that they deserved best developer of the year.

As for the other point, None of the other publishers were treated that way. Bethesda wasn't nominated for all their studios (not that any other studios released anything anyway), only Bethesda Game Studios was nominated. Same counts for Konami, where only Kojima Productions was nominated. Only Nintendo is treated that way.

But I did consider the sucky games from Nintendo.i personally think thats the reason why Nintendo didnt win the award. But yeah, I think they should have nominated the company itself, not the developer.Even though the Konami example was more out of spite due to all the Kojima/Konami situation, I think Bethesta itself should have been nominated not Bethesda game studios, because they are all part of one thing, and not separate. But thats my own opinion

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Guys, it might have more to do with they're super expansion pack, quality of the game. Free dlc and quick reactive patches?

It's good to see the witcher 3 win goty. I was afraid the overrated game of the year was going to win, metal gear, great that they gave the game that actually deserved the award.
