I tend to speak about the present or the past. Otherwise it's just pure speculation.  If you've a negative outlook then fair enough but for the UK and the US I can't see Microsoft not staying close because it's too big a market for them to give up.  They're the last 2 major markets they're relevant in and I'll be damned if they give up on those too.

It's not that I have a negative outlook, I just see things as they are, when one has more than the other, when one is stronger, better in most ways then I see a clear winner, trying to say little Johnny who came in last place is also a winner is stretching things a bit. I don't see MS giving up either but I don't see them winning, if I saw them as outright winning then that would be me being over the top optomistic and not taking current events into account.

I'm not saying they're going to win because I don't think they will even in the UK or US. What I'm saying is they are and will continue to be competitive.  they will continue posting respectable numbers for a while at least. No shame in that.

Pretty good, PS4 above 1 million for BF week this year? It had 990k last year if I remember correctly.

There is no shame in them posting said numbers but at the end of the day there is a clear winner and a clear non winner.

But in these markets it's not a dominant winner right now after 2 years.  That's my point.  no domination so far just very healthy competition.

I dunno, it's not like the numbers are so slight enough to call it healthy, if itwas say 100 in sales difference or maybe 300 then that'd be neck and neck healthy, this gen isn't really screaming etremely healthy and fair competition though when we look at the overall numbers, marketshare and copies/units sold for games and hardware.

Oh yeah I agree,  worldwide it's absolute domination but this gen the battle between x1 and ps4 is much closer than the ps3 and 360. You must have hated last gen in the US and UK seeing the ps3 do so bad compared to 360. Because it was far worse than the x1 is now doing compared to the ps4.

damn not even half a good as last year for XBO.
It has the record for most consoles sold on Black Friday as of last year.

But glad competition exists.

Last gen I was more or less on the 360 for the most part and wasn't a guy that was heavily into sales (I'm still not that guy tbh), last gen in the end though Sony managed to close the gap but this gen the same isn't going to happen, I feel this gen is going to fair worse for MS.

Both up over last year is always a good! but seems a little weird they mention the price of a X1 new bundle and then list the Pre-owned price of a PS4 been £200 when the article is about newly sold consoles.
