Forums - Gaming - My Problem With Star Wars Battefront

Despite knowing the game was not exactly like its predecessors, I decided to buy it since I had some fun with the beta. So, after playing for 3 days I can say I'm having a lot of fun, but there's something that really holds the game's potential to me: it's that you kill/die a lot. It's not like you can do much to prevent this since on many modes you have tons of players (sometimes AI too), vehicles, explosions and stuff... and sometimes you take 2 shots and you're dead. On Walker Assault it's hard sometimes to just go to a point and the fact that you keep dying is really frustrating sometimes. This comes from someone who's almost always near the top of the matches' leaderboards. This kill/die/kill/die/kill/die/kill is not fun. =/ I wish it had more strategy and was more balanced; the only exception so far is Heroes vs Villains, on this mode you feel that you actually have some control of what's going on.

Am I the only one feeling this way?

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

So...it's too fast paced? That's actually a pretty ironic complaint about a Dice game.

I have noticed that there are times when I'll die like 10 seconds after spawning, but it's pretty rare and usually my own fault.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I mean, compared to CoD the pace is pretty slow. I'd say its about the same as Battlefront 4.

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

This is a good thing because it eliminates camping. Like battlefield 4 might have 64 player matches but you'll probably get 7 or 8 on each team camping with snipers. It makes a nice change I must say.

Yes... too fast paced, too much of "who sees first get the kill". I usually end up at the top of the leaderboards, but I don't finish a match of it with a smile on my face like I expected. The only mode that demands more strategy and good teamwork is actually Heroes vs Villains. I guess I'll stick with it (and fighter squadron) since it's more enjoyable for me.

Online only, every 5 seconds die re spawn repeat is ok if you can spent time else where.

This release is the epitome of whats wrong with online only, its not really Fun.

Nothing really eliminates camping because camping is a valid strategy but I understand why people dislike it. Anyways, therer's still plenty of camping in it.

In the first mode the op mentioned and in other modes, the highest ranking players in matches are generally the ones who stay at a strategic spot to pick players off and/or use power ups nonstop.

I don't have those issues as you do with that game. I really wanted a conquest mode for single player, space battles and a hardmode for every type of multiplayer mode. How flying faster in ships weakens your weapons, I'll never understand. In general, using aircraft is not as fun.

Is this game addictive? That's all I really care about. I can sink considerable time into multiplayer TPS/FPS (mostly CoD and Gears) if its addictive and that, to me is worth it.

I'd get it if it had a Galactic Conquest mode with bots and the Clone Wars era infantry
