Final Fantasy 15 Playable From Start to Finish, Dev Says

Final Fantasy XV programmer Satoshi Kitade has provided a development update on the long-in-development RPG. Writing in the game's forums, Kitade says Final Fantasy XV has advanced through its pre-beta state, meaning the team is now focusing its efforts on polishing.

"We're at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish," Kitade said, as translated by Gematsu. "From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game."

What this means, according to Gematsu, is that Square Enix developers are now polishing game elements and tweaking gameplay to get the game ready for launch.

"The first half of the game is finished with the quality of a final product, and you get the sense you're playing it in its final form," Kitade added.

This is no doubt good news for Final Fantasy fans, as they've been waiting years to play the final game. A firm release date for Final Fantasy XV has not been announced, but it's scheduled to launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime in 2016, according to game director Hajime Tabata.
