It's an okay browser. I like the stepless zooming with the right stick and the text input with the touch screen. But many websites don't work as intended, f.e. there is no VGChartz Buddy list.

Microsoft Edge on the Xbox One is the most compatible console browser I know of (even Ace Attorney Online works), but due to that compatibility, many nagging ads (f.e. auto-playing videos on VGC) also work.

Compatibility: PC browsers > XBO > PS4 > iOS > Wii U > Android > Vita > PS3 > 3DS > PSP

Usability: PC browsers > iOS/Android tablets > Wii U > Vita > smart phones > PS4/XBO

I have to write in polish (my wife is from Poland) sometimes, and it is doable but quiet a chore.

PS4 browser is pretty rubbish IMO, and as that's the only console I have I never browse on console. Fortunately PS4 has a decent Youtube App and Netflix App so I still get to use the PS4 for most of the interwebs type stuff that I would want to do on my TV. Still waiting for the Twitch App to come, I definitely want to be able to watch Twitch on my TV without needing to plug in my laptop.

Browsing on the Wii U sounds pretty good, do you get to use the tablet as a keyboard? One of the most useless things about browsing on console is having to type with the controller. It's a shame having the best browser doesn't quite act as much of a selling point for consoles. If it did then Wii U would have a bigger market share, and it would force the other console to up their game in the browser department.

Try this before you go to your NBA/NFL site:

• Go to Start Page
• Go to settings (top right)
• Go to "Switch User Agent"
• Choose iPad 
• Go back and try to play the video again.

Unfortunately this resets when you turn the Wii U off.

A final tip that is very handy when showing pictures or video clips for the family:

• Push X
• A little symbol will show a TV with either a red "stop sign" or a empty TV. 
• On the TV there will be a curtain and a mii who does "tricks" (children especially like when he plays "rock - scissors - paper).
• Hold X, there will be a snare drum roll, before releasing and open up the curtain.

While the curtain is there you can prepare a cute cat video or some nice pictures.

(If you have a suspended game there will be screenshots of the game instead of the mii with the tricks - close the game)

A game we have had for the family is:

• Close the curtain (push X)
• Find a picture of a celebrity (choose LARGE pictures)
• Hold the stylus on the picture for a second and choose "image preview"
• Zoom in maximum, (with the right thumb stick)
• Open the curtain (hold X and release)
• Slowly zoom out, (with the right thumb stick - you can move around the picture with the left stick) and let the family guess who is on the picture

Yeah the gamepad has a keyboard on the touch screen which pops up. It works quite well. 

I always use it to watch youtube video during meals when I'm at home. I also use it to watch anime shows and movies in HD on the TV with kissanime.com's mobile website. But you'll have to google search "kissanime mobile" first or you'll run into the incompatible desktop site.

I used the Wii U browser at a friend's shop and it was ok.The ps4 browser is very fast and does absolutely everything,from watching anime to watching live streams of sports.The only possible way I will give it to the Wii U is if it supports flash.

Yes, it's surprisingly fast and responsive, I like it too!
