Lately I've been thinking about this, and it could make a lot of sense actually. See, aside from Skyward Sword, Nintendo has already remade/remastered all of the other games with OoT3D, MM3D, WWHD, and now TPHD.

Now, imagine if the NX, whatever it is, ends up having no BC with 3DS/Wii U at all, we would be restricted to only the Virtual Console versions of those games that would eventually be released. If Zelda U actually ends up being cross-platform, that means both WWHD and TPHD can be ported over as well, meaning that if Nintendo decided to make a Zelda collection for the new console, they could simply port all the work they already have, plus port the remade versions of OoT and MM over too, which probably isn't that much difficult anyway.

But then you could think, what's the point? To me at least, it could be a nice way to end the Zelda remakes, and in the process have some enhancements to the already beautiful 3DS remakes as well.

Just imagine OoT3D/MM3D, but in 1080p, like in these shots, for example:

Not only it would look great, but Nintendo could easily add in the uncompressed textures that surely have been kept by Grezzo, so it could look even better!

So, what do you guys think, am I making sense here or just being crazy? xD

I think it makes sense. Considering Nintendo, starting from Wind Waker HD, will have released 3 remakes in less than 3 years when Twilight Princess HD comes out, it's easy to say that they're remake crazy. So, a 3D Zelda collection down the line makes sense.

Can't wait for The Zelder Scrolls 3: Breath of The Wild Hunt!

It makes alot of sense, and it may even make alot of people to buy the new console, specially if they bundle it, since it would have a gigantic value. But i dont see it happening nowhere soon

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I hope so
your hd shots are kind of ugly btw

Maybe on the 10th generation... who knows? :P

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Well tbh these shots aren't really mine, just picked them up from another website to use as an example. I think most of them look great, mainly this one though:

Yeah. If NX is going to bridge between handhelds and home consoles, It'll be simple for a collection to happen, especially with the 3D remakes originally on handhelds and the HD remasters from home consoles.

bet: lost

I highly doubt it, Zelda is still very popular and Zelda ports which are all separate are still selling great even they have full price like other Nintendo games, so I relly dont see Nintendo puting them all in one game when they will earn so much more money on way like they doing currently.

Maybe in some point in future we could see Zelda N64 collection with OoT/MM in one game or Zelda Wii collection with TP/SS in one game, but all 3D Zelda games in one collection, definitely no.

Yes, but only something like the Master Quest collection. A compilation of old Zeldas, maybe add some more like the DS Zeldas, and spinoffs like Crossbow Training and that Tingle game.

You know it deserves the GOTY.
