I hope not. I'd hate GoW in first person. Even with option that sounds terrible and pointless.

True, but only 4 console releases (not counting ports):

 

1) GOW

2) GOW2

3) GOW3

4) GOW:A

 

Not down playing this, just don't want to get burnt by it since I'm a huge GOW fan. 

 

Well, GOW4 is already kinda official and expected to be at PSX... 


I do hope it is. GOW2 was my favourite one and knowing Cory is back to make the next instalment, I can't wait. 

 

Hoping it is a new trilogy set in the Norse world or Egypt. 

 

Also,if you guys are right and the 4th logo does represent GOW4, that could also mean they are continuing Kratos's story and the next instalment will continue where the last one left off.

Sony balances both new IPs and old IP's very well, so if you want new series there is already and they need to make fans of the old IPs also happy which is why they make. 



GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

I don't think this is necessarily a Tease for the next God of War, but anyone that was looking for game news online when PSX happened last year likely already knows that Cory Barlog let the cat out of the bag that he was working on God of War for PS4 with a team at Santa Monica.
I'm pretty sure Shannon Studstill (the Studio's Director) said the studio will have a big presence at PSX this year.

Maybe God of War for PS4 will be revealed at PSX or the studio has another new game ready to reveal, I personally just want to see what the Studio can do on PS4, don't mind whether it's God of War or a new IP.

As far God of War goes I love the series to pieces, Ascension and God of War 3 were awesome, 3 was utterly phenomenal and my favorite of the series, though I do love 2 too pieces as well.

From a history perspective the mythology of Greek Gods takes place years before any of the rumored mythologies that have been doing the rounds for the next God of War game. Kratos exists both within the realms of man and the Gods and we're talking about a universe with Magic, so really God of War can definitely have Kratos fighting future gods, new inventions of Santa Monica Studios or just bend history to renew the series with a retelling of the God of War story again if the Studio wants to do that.

This series can transcend time and put Kratos in any time period that Santa Monica wants him to be fighting in.

How the hell would a first person mode actually work on a God of War game? It's a hack n slash, not a slow game like The Elder Scrolls. You would probably get dizzy while playing it. haha
