I just feel like the differences in TPHD are so much more obvious. That isn't a subtle difference at all. It's just not an impressive difference because the source was never that great looking. WWHD looks so great in HD because WW looks so great in SD. TP aged very poorly in SD, so it needed much more work and yet it still doesn't look as good as WWHD. I don't even think what Nintendo's done here looks better than WW in SD, if I'm honest. TP deserved a lot more work than this.

Why? Twilight princess on dolphin still has those awful textures, where as Twilight princess hd has brand new textures.

You and I must be looking at a different version then ebcause the one I am seeing looks a lot more pleasing to my eyes than TP HD. Not to mention the amount of tweaks that can and will be made to it rather than a slap of textures and that's it forever until the next remaster.


Such awful textures. Terrible.

But yeah, to say on topic, easily Wind Waker HD. Even if we put aside subjective preference, Wind Waker's art style has just aged better than Twilight Princess's. Twilight Princess needed a lot more done to it to have even a lick of a chance of competing.

Less worse is TPHD.

we can see the effort they put on TPHD on the textures. Most of them were completly rebuilt.

But the light effects on WWHD make it look much better. With far less effort than TPHD seems to receive.

I can't really say for sure, personally. There's some areas in Wind Waker that I think look better (based on the lighting and things like that) on the GameCube than the Wii U, and it could be the same for Twilight Princess. Plus, Wind Waker HD saw some changes graphically throughout its 6 month development (TP HD releases in 4 months).

Wind Waker looks better, but Twilight Princess is the better game and has more content. I disagree with people who say Wind Waker SD aged well, though. The colors in the original look very bland compared to the remake and overall it just looks dull. Wind Waker HD shines because of the intense colors and improved lighting.

Twilight Princess had a great art direction but unfortunately most of the time you walk on very low res ground textures. If only the ground was remade to be actual grass or rock the game would look so much better.

Wind waker was more conducive to an update. They also seemed like they put more effort into it. Looks like they didn't let Tantalus tamper with anything but the textures. I would kinda have liked some new lighting or something.

Doesn't bother me, using text packs improves the visuals for me over TP HD, I still find the Dolphin version to look a lot better and it can improve whilst the HD version is now already set in concrete stone that will never be changed on the platform.
