Warzone is what I wanted from battlefront actually.

Kind of expected really.

The Taken King?!

thats lower than I thought it would be.

Will probably be the best selling game with an aggregate metascore (combining metascores across all platforms) of below 75. Which will end up being a validation of releasing a game with no SP content. However I think the reason this game will sell well is because it's the first non-lego star wars game to come out in a while and it's the first Battlefront game in a long time.

If they do Battlefront 2 within a couple of years and it's not a significant improvement, as well as having a SP campaign, I think it will sell poorly. Just like Titanfall 2 needs to have a SP campaign.

I watched a bit of the Beta on Twitch, with someone playing in TPS mode and the gameplay seemed pretty good. So if this had a halfway decent SP game I'd be lining up to buy it, but without that I'm not the least bit interested. I bought The Order and enjoyed it and it ONLY has a halfway decent SP campaign.

For MP only at the current price it needed 50% + the maps, vehicles (not as power up) and taun tauns, more dynamic progression and class system. Conquest and galactic conquest game modes. Split Screen online.

Now I'll wait and see whether EA and DICE will do something or else I wait till it's half price.

Needs single player to sell as well as they want it to.

And yet galactic conquest mode for the 501st was basically the same as regular conquest and sold well and COD is played more for it's MP than it's SP and mostly the same for Halo, Planetside, Planetside 2, TF2 and plenty more MP games. It's still going to sell well without SP like other MP only games have done before. SP games aren't the one type of games that sell a ton.

Would be totally nice if they did throw in an SP campaign or even an MP one but as things stand they are going with a simplistic MP approach to gain both the casual and dedicated crowds and it's working well so far.

That said I don't think it's worth paying £80+ for MP only content though, paying the standard £35-40 should be enough which is why I'm going to wait for a price cut like I did for Titanfall and other MP/SP games.

Mostly, perhaps. But a large proportion of Halo fans do like the campaign, the story, the characters, the lore. As you know I'm not an Xbox guy but I know quite a few Xbox fans and they are all Halo fans and they all play the SP campaign. And part of the reason Halo 5 seems to be doing poorly relative to past main sequence hHalo games is the disappointing SP campaign. Most reviews say the MP for Halo 5 is as good as Halo has ever been for MP, so it's not like the MP quality is holding it down.

Battlefront could have been a very interesting SPp campaign especially if they made you a character who starts out with no alignment and makes choices that lead them to either join the rebels or the empire, or even remained neutral or become an outlaw/mercenary/bounty hunter.

Fact of the matter is CoD is still the biggest selling FPS game, ever, and they still make an effort to put in a SP campaign. Why would they do that if they thought the games would sell as well and be more profitable without it? Activision and it's CoD minion studios know that an SP campaign helps with sales.

Yeah, I think the reviews are pretty much on.

There really isn't enough content to be worth $60. That being said, I'm enjoying the game a bunch and don't regret buying it at all (I also didn't spend $60 on it).

Game is very simple, but gorgeous and a ton of fun. I'm interested to see what the next year looks like for this game.

But yeah, looks like The Taken King is the FPS of the year.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Decent score. Just about to play. Can't wait

Awful metascore

Since when was 74-77 an awful metascore?
