Forums - Nintendo - XCX load time comparison: with and without data packs

I just looked up Xenoblade X's file size. It's 22.7 GB. How do they expect us to download all of the patches and the game if we buy the game digitally? Not to mention there won't be space for anything else

If you're all digital, and 23GB is actually worrying to you, you shouldn't be all digital. You should have an external hard drive.

10GB in total, which is a bummer when your console only comes with a 32GB hard drive...

If you buy it digitally you don't need the data packs. the whole point of the packs is to bypass the optical drive's maximum throughput. If you're not playing from disc, the optical drive is out of the equation and no longer a limiting factor.

Digital doesn't require the data packs, as they explained in the Direct.

What's weird is that the packs are up for download in North America, but not here in PAL land, last I checked...

Yeah, that's what I'm wondering. I've already preloaded.

Well, you've already decided then! I'm leaning towards digital but I want to know how the performance is... I don't see why it would be worse than physical, just wondering if there's any measurable difference.

All reports I've seen say that digital performs pretty much exactly like physical+all data packs.

The Basic Pack is recomended the others are a bit more optional.

Field/Basic Data Pack (Large effect) : 2GB
Enemy Data Pack (mid): 2.7GB
Player Data Pack (mid): 3.6GB
Doll Data Pack (mid): 1.7GB

If I own external harddrive for Wii U, can I install game into Wii U memory?
