You know what make me displeased about this Nintendo Direct? Where's the president Kimishima?
Sony/Playstation president/chief are vocal and always show their thoughts on matters that related to the company, consumers or products.
Microsoft/Xbox president/chief behaves the same way not letting any consumer with doubts about their positions.
This first direct was the perfect time to talk with all Nintendo fans and pass the confidence and demonstrate that he knows the company problems and how he intended to pass through and aim higher.
But he missed, and all was show was a meh direct full with things that are not great news.
Talk about wasted chances...

That's not really what Directs are about tho, they are literally just about content releasing in the near future. Quarterly reports and investor meetings are what ur looking for.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

So your theory essentially boils down to, when Nintendo comes with their big guns, people react positively, and when they don't, people are underwhelmed by their line-up. Umm...well yes, obviously.

I think it was a great direct because it unveiled the DQ games are coming over and a release date-ish for FE fates.

But from a general perspective, it announced Zelda TP HD and Pokken tournament was officially unveiled for the first time. It also showed a release date for Starfox zero and a sneak peak on Zelda U. If Wii U owners aren't happy with that, then they will never be happy.
I mean... i won't say that is enough for the rest of time because it isnt. But, for one direct, that is pretty good. Actually, it was better than this years E3.

We are sheeps for wanting the big guns. We should be hyped for games we don't like.

Not all Nintendo fans are Zelda/Metroid fanatics.

Neither Zelda or Metroid are even in my top 5 of favorite Nintendo franchises even though I appreciate the effort Nintendo puts into those IP. I'd be just as interested in a new Wave Race as the new Zelda.

OP, I have one question for you :

What is the purpose of this thread ? Generalize and characterize a whole community under a few criteria that a lot of people don't fit ?

Replace Metroid with Mario Kart or Pokemon - then the thread will make sense.

pretty much this

Even the smallest glimpse of Zelda Wii U, reconfirmation of 2016, reconfirmation of the beautiful visual style staying the same, and reconfirmation of it being a Wii U title (even if it's dual-release on NX) had me feeling extremely excited. Fire Emblem: Fates also got a release date (SOON!) and a special edition, which I was able to pre-order. Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow are coming to VC. And then the pre-loading for Xenoblade Chronicles X and the data packs was announced and available right away. Those are the four announcements that stuck out to me.

Twilight Princess HD coming is cool, but I was totally underwhelmed by how it looks. Cloud coming to Smash didn't interest me at all because I don't really play Final Fantasy games. Everything else was merely okay, or just plain boring.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

Some people will remember that the 3DS will get a bunch of RPGs, but the guys who only own a Wii U will probably draw a blank here.

Because we all know that the list of Nintendo fans that only own a Wii U and not a 3DS is a long one?

By my count, we got Twilight Princess HD, Pokken Tournament details, Linkle in Hyrule Warriors Legends, Pokemon RBY on VC, new Star Fox video showing a significant change and much more information about the game, new Splatoon updates, a proper Xenoblade Chronicles X trailer, Final Fantasy Explorers, multiple other third-party and indie titles, Cloud in Smash, and confirmation of a dedicated Smash direct in December.

What exactly were you expecting in a November direct? They're not going to reveal everything they have up their sleeves in one go.
