| Scisca said: Yeah, I agree. The Direct was crap, but I was totally expecting it. You can see they are trying to pretend as if it's all great in Nintendoland and they have us covered, but the reality is that well... Nintendo needs a brand new start. Badly. The only game that got me interested is DQ8 and I'd still rather play it on Vita in higher resolution than the crappy 3DS screen :/ I hated Amiibo being thrown in everywhere and talking about DLC all the time. I was neutral towards Amiibo at first, but after some time and hearing as more games had content and even levels hidden behind this paywall I got to really hate them. To me at this point it's just as bad as when MS was talking about TV at a certain conference... |
bleak for a company with like 10 billion in cash reserves and some of the most valuable character IPS in the world?
people can say what they want but Nintendo is not doing that poorly when you look at them as a whole with their 3DS and Amiibo's
the Wii U has been doing poorly since out of the gate. what did you all expect from this Nintendo Direct, a bunch of magical new titles for a system that nobody is buying?
get realistic you all, Nintendo has been thinking about and planning for the NX for a while. they have supported the Wii U fine, a lot better than some other companies (cough Sony / Vita)
the reality is that if Nintendo integrates their handheld and home console divisions they will have a smash success again. it's inevitable with having the Pokemon, Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid, etc. IPs
in fact Nintendo has tons of room to work with, they have been criminally underusing certain IPS (Pokemon on home consoles, F-Zero, numerous RPG handheld franchises (cough Golden Sun), etc.)
get more realistic with your hopes guys! Nintendo Direct is supposed to be a communication device for Nintendo to show fans what to expect but it's not some E3 big reveal thing where they announce loads of games or necessarily present some revolutionary thing. I feel like a lot of people are being unrealistic with expectations and giving Nintendo an unjust hard time

Fates being split into two versions wouldn't bother me if the price was more reasonable. If the base game is $40 and each DLC expansion is $20 separately, how is $80 for the whole shebang supposed to feel like a deal? It's the same as buying them all piecemeal. |
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe you get physical versions of all 3, or at least the first 2. In which case, it's a $20 discount in addition to the art book.
Cloud in Smash is all I need for the rest of Nintendo. Ever.

Next Christmas!? Come on thats just stupid. Cloud in smash while cool was not enough to save this depressing direct. It is only 7 but I am so sad I just want to go to sleep. |
-StarFox looks better, thats good thing, not bad.
-TP HD actually looks noticeably better than TP Wii. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSjP7qxsSzk
-Moment Zelda Wii U was delayed it was clear that be will 2016. holiday season game, like almost every other 3D Zelda game. So I really don't know what you were expecting on first place!?

Better than ugly doesn't make it looks good.
>TP HD actually looks noticeably better than TP Wii.
It look the same with higher resolution. Not the great achievement for 10 years old game.
>So I really don't know what you were expecting on first place!?
Early 2016 release, for example. This year Nintendo live without great holiday titles and feels good.

-It was very unrealistic to expect that Star Fox Zero will look too much better.
-Its HD port, not remake.
-3D Zelda is almost always holiday season game, moment Zelda Wii U was delayed it was clear that be will 2016. holiday season game.
What worries me is the lack of new games for the WiiU.
Every game shown was already announced several months ago. There´s some good stuff coming, like Pokken, SMT x FE, Starfox....... but the lack of REAL new games for 2016 is something to be worried about.
Apart from Pikmin 4, Zelda WiiU, that Namco Game (Treasure Hunters?), and those two uncertain Miyamoto projects (Guard, Giant Robot) what else can we expect? Absolutely nothing. It seems they have stopped WiiU development definetely. We won´t see a real Animal Crossing, Metroid or Paper Mario game
3ds, on the other side, seems still promising, with so many new RPGs
