8 is amazing! 7... well, I'm hoping it's better than the PSX version

Haha, I see. I'm still curious about 7 as well, haha x )

Same. I've been keeping an eye out for 7 ever since its first scan came out in 2013 :3

Can't wait! This was a DQ day for me. Heroes on PC, VII and VII on 3DS... I'm so happy right now!

Same here! Dragon Quest is actually being shown some love in the states. This time, I'm sure it'll catch on at least with the 3D titles. I am also glad that Heroes is reaching beyond the PS4. Today is a great day to be a Dragon Quest fan.

I know, right? I've never played DQVII, it's one of my gaming goals. And DQVIII is one of the best JRPGs I've ever played, and I want to revisit that world. Also it's nice to see, because of this Direct, how SE is jumping on the Nintendo wagon very, very strong.

Heard many things about DQ7 but i'm undecided. Now DQ8 i never got to complete. The portable format fits it better and with the extra content i'm feeling it.
Definitly good choices to have.

From what I've played of 7, it is definitely a different experience than any other DQ game. The PS1 version actually felt like a chore, and this is coming from someone who adores DQ. Now, I'm really hoping they fix 7 on 3DS because it had potential for sure

I won't promise anything but a lot of the "choreness" (yes I just made up that word), was taken out of the 3DS version. The original game probably took people around 80-100 hours to beat (some even clocked 150 hours). Without all the choreness, the game has been reduced to about 65-75 hours. Much like the original Dragon Quest on famicom and how the SNES remakes made everything much easier or normal. Dragon Quest 8 is definitely the best one for me, and the added content is a huge plus. But, try 7 again. I think this will be a gem.

Thank god then. The biggest problem for 7 was it looks like a DS DQ game (as you know they used the same engine) but used the menu layout of DQ1-3 with having to pop up the menu to talk, open doors, pick up barrels, etc x~x it was a nightmare

I remember some higher-up at Square accidentally spoiling it a while ago, but nice for fans to have it confirmed

It wasn't just some higher up at Square. Yuji Horii himself, the creator of Dragon Quest and still head of the studio making each entry (SE just publishes), said it during Japan Expo in the summer. It was pretty obvious they were actually coming then too, considering reps and such apparently got pissed at Horii for letting it slip before they were ready to make the official announcement.

I remember that interview but thought nothing of it. Nintendo's doing localization though, Lazy SE won't do it.

So many people asked for this... I'm happy for them. It's interesting that the 2016 3DS line up is looking pretty good with Bravely Second, Fire Emblem Fates, FF Explorers, Mario & Luigi and now DQ VII and VIII (also many indies and smaller games)... good support for a 5 years old portable.

Unless you aren't a fan of JRPGs, but I am, so ahahahah

Currently most hyped for: FFXV and Zelda U
