I agree. Nintendos obsession with their earlier Mario titles is getting annoying. 3D World doesnt have its own identity because its just nods to earlier Mario games...

Both are great and phenomenal games and they are very different.

I don't like when people saying for 3D Mario that "isn't real 3D Mario" because that isn't true, but I also don't like OP saying for Mario Galaxy that is meh game. :)

Mario Galaxy is Epic 3D Mario game, whole Galaxy thing , flying through space and from Galaxy to Galaxy is Epic, music is also Epic.
Mario 3D World isnt Epic in way Mario Galaxy is, but again its phenomenal game, so fun, so variety, so good multiplayer, so great looking...I really had blast playing Mario 3D World.
If I need to choose I would say that bought game are equal, but I would give a just little advantage to 3D World because I had more fun playing that game.

Saying that, I would love to see 3D World 2 on NX (but like second 3D Mario for NX, not first, first need to be something completly new), and I really don't want third Mario Galaxy game because I think two Galaxy games are enough and it's better to have something completely new.

I would call Trine 2 or Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze as 2.5D but not Mario 3D World. (although DKC:TF has some levels where the camera plane changes)

Unless you use an ortographic perspective or your camera is restricted to an plane, it's not a 2D (or 2.5D) game.

Oh ok. Ill be sure to ask you when the new Mario comes out to see if its better than 3D World. I was sure I thought the Galaxy games were way better than 3D World, but guess I was wrong. Good to have a person who REALLY knows...
