Correct. Hard to make that one hard without being too obscure, unlike my last game.

'Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones' is a tactical role-playing game which took me by surprise. Upon starting, I was immediately hooked and played for hours on end. It is a fairly large game to, which took me quite some time to complete, but I never felt like putting down the system for a pause. It's pretty rare with me for a game to do that.

The player controls a host of warriors following the princess and her bodyguard in their quest to stop evil forces from attaining unspeakable power by combining a couple of ancient artifacts to hidden and guarded by multiple kingdoms. At some points, the story will branch into different directions splitting up your teams following and going further in-depth on another main character.

The game is surprisingly deep if you want it to be, but the good thing is you can basically ignore the finer points if you just want to play the game and can't be bothered with building up your characters beyond the leveling system. The characters will permanently die if you're not careful and it makes the player be very conscious about their decisions. It also makes that each playthrough will be different, as different characters will react differently to situations. Having such a surprise factor, is always a good thing.

All good brother. All you need to do is play catch up and you're set! We're not even in the 20's yet. ^_^

Would love to have you in the fun. :)

Due to recent developments concerning the ownership of this massive franchise, the canonicity of the main character in this game (and everyone else's naturally), as well as the events portrayed, have sadly become a point of concern. In this game, the main character recklessly seeks out a force he laid down in the previous game to avenge the supposed death of his partner. Unknowingly however, this leads the main antagonist to this same secret valley as well, so he can have his troops reborn in his image.

#36: Bioshock

Action Adventure
2007

"I am Andrew Ryan, and I'm here to ask you a question. Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his brow? 'No!' says the man in Washington, 'It belongs to the poor.' 'No!' says the man in the Vatican, 'It belongs to God.' 'No!' says the man in Moscow, 'It belongs to everyone.' I rejected those answers; instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose... Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, Where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well." And with one of the most incredible openings I've ever experienced in gaming, I plunged into the hellish depths of Rapture, not knowing exactly what lay ahead of me. But that unknown kept me going, and by the time I escaped the doomed city I was a better gamer for it. The game sets itself apart in so many ways, and it's quality always shines through. Bioshock is a once in a generation game, and I loved every second of it.

#35: Batman: Arkham City

Action Adventure
2011

Where Arkham Asylum earned its acclaim by using the beloved MetroidVania style, Arkham City spread its bat wings and followed the Zelda design with its large overworld and different "temples" to delve into. And since I love Zelda more than Metroid, City outclasses Asylum for me. The game has incredible pacing, as there's never a dull moment to speak of, the bosses are incredible (The Mr. Freeze fight ranks among the better boss fights I've had the pleasure to play), the overworld is full of secrets and goodies to find, and the story is top notch Batman fare. As a Zelda fan, as a Batman fan, and as a gaming fan, Arkham City hits all the right notes.
