This seems kinda of low for the end of October? Or maybe the holiday highs aren't going to be what I was expecting. November will see 2.2 million new ps4 owners, right? Or am I over shooting.

This data may be wrong, we have to wait for NPD to make some serious conclusions.

Holiday will be big because of SW/COD/Black Friday. Look at amazon top - http://www.amazon.com/best-sellers-video-games/zgbs/videogames - it has 3 ps4 SKU's in top 20.

I don't know if I'm missing something here.

Sony posted shipment numbers of 29M+ as of the end of October. And VGC is tracking 26.5M as at the end of October. Meaning that at the end of October there were 2.5M PS4s sitting around in channels?

Further more, for that quarter Sony shipped 4M consoles. meaning they have a manufacturing rate of approx. 1.3M/month. Yet they have almost 2 months worth if stock just sitting there unsold?

Something doesn't seem right with that to me. Especially when considering that in a similar quarter last year they even shipped less consoles than they did this year. And the sales to stock gap wasn't this high.

*andersen silver voice* "is normal... have 3million sitting on shelves is normal"

Great week Numbers overall

Yeah. Record breaking alright. Record for the best way to mislead fans during marketing.

It's consistent with how MS always announce Halo launches so no need to read to much into it: http://techcrunch.com/2007/09/26/halo-3-breaks-records/

they didn't include HW before.

Halo boost doesn't seem that intense but hey remember it broke very specific and detailed records.

Expected more from X1 and 3DS, maybe they'll get better during November.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Keep in mind people that the 1TB model of the PS4 includes a Free PSTV here in Europe, technically that is at its core a Vita, might well explain the boosted sales figures, as for the completely 100% accurate data of "None of my mates bought a Vita this week so the numbers can't be right" well.... fuck, maybe that's true instead!

Well, it's not about 'friends didn't buy' because friends actually bought Vitas. I still know enough people who basically buy all consoles.

It's Vita doesn't sell at least in UK and Germany as far as i know from retailers, inofficial data, seems pretty much the same in BeNeLux...

And AFAIK the 1TB bundles over here don't have a PSTV included in general. It was Ultimate Player Edition at the release. So i'd really like to know where those Vitas are sold.

With Vita likely already overtracked those sales seem weird. Especially when we always only hear good sales from spain and nowhere else. That's like saying Wii U did not so bad in France so it must sell in whole Europe. Or Xbox does decent in UK so it's big in Europe.
