How did this game receive as much praise from reviewers as it did? It's like playing a dumbed down version of the previous games only with some of the mods, not a bad game but not a spectacular one either. I hope they don't carry over some of the changes into ES6.

Yeah it is dumbed down in some ways that I do agree with so far I do not know if it is going to match New Vegas for me (but it is still an awesome game) but Skyrim is the game that started the trend of being "dumbed down" so it will absolutely be in ES6

This is why I never buy AAA on day one. Wait a month or two and you'll have a much better game.

It is getting 9 and 10s because it is an awesome game. I have friends who bought it on every platform and guess what..... They all love it and keep trying to get off work to play some more (leaving poor me lol)

This is not how reviews work, if it has flaws it has to be deducted from the score, giving a game that launches with severe technical issues a 10 is not only wrong its unprofessional. The user reviews are being much more honest, and sure the game is getting a lot of 0 out of frustration from users wich arent acurate either but the user score reflects the flaws in the game much more acuratly than the "pro reviews" who chose to turn a blind eye to the very non subjective technical flaws the game has.

That 0fps is obviously a design choice to make the game more cinematic. It forces the player to stop and enjoy the scenery. There are a lot of good films which also use still shots. If anything it is under utilized!

I know youre being sarcastic but the Bethesda defense brigade will soon apropriate your comentary to keep trying to explain the unexplainable. Nobody is saying the game isnt fun ppl, were saying its unaceptable for a company to release like theyre 10th technicaly screwed up game, hire competent programers for gods sake, only the ideas department is good on Bethesda.

LOL user reviews are a joke.

Let me rephrase Fallout 4 has no glitches bad enough to really damage the enjoyment of the game. In fact it has been very stable for me

And you keep getting away with not understanding what "broken" means. Do you really think that just because you use hyperbole that it magically turns into the truth?

You are using the word hyperbole incorrectly.

You might want to check a dictionary because I used it correctly.  Just type a word into google, it works great.  Knowledge is power.

Dont even try to defend it just cause its Bethesda, dropping to 0 FPS is broken, freezing constantly is broken, having characters stck on the enviroment regularly is broken. This game does not deserve any of the 9s and 10s it got its flaws are not subjective ones theyre 100% objective and demostrated by many many videos. Bugs are not charming because its Bethesda, theres a reason the user review score of this on Metacritics is like 4, users are being honest, pro reviewers arent.

Game development is hard and expensive, with a game as big as fallout, you can't fix everything. You should just be happy you had a chance to pay 60 dollars to play it.

That's no damn excuse. Japanese devs manage to have their game released for the most part bug free while devs like bethesda don't want to take 3 to 6 months extra to polish their games. It's just pure laziness or cheapness.

Metascore would suggest they are not getting away with it. Game deserves a score in the mid 90's bare minimum. Of course, it will sell millions, I am sure they are more enamored with revenue.

By the way, over 24 hours in on Xbone and still nothing even close to broken or unplayable.

Getting back towards the Fallout 4 framerate issue, for me, I always wait a couple of days for even games like Fallout to find out if there are any issues. Since there are issues in relation of the Xbox One, this pretty much means that the variant you should avoid as a gamer would be the Xbox One verison.

Sadly though, this does resonate a problem; should that gamer only have an Xbox One, then the next best thing would be to wait for Bethesda to release an update to rectify this issue on the One. Outside of that solution, I am unsure of other alternatives.

DF shows the worst examples of games in their technical analysis. I'm sure it's still perfectly playable. I doubt those stutters are very frequent as they said it happens when you enter a new area. TW3 on ps4 didn't pause yet I had plenty occasions where half the world didn't appear in time coming around a corner in Novigrad, and it always had me wait upto 5 seconds before npc's became responsive. I didn't wait for patches to fix it. In good sport I let the enemies get themselves stuck on the terrain or in a loop and kill stuff way above my level :)

It's not like you lose 5 hours of trading when the game glitches and your fully loaded T9 crashes into the wall of the station in Elite dangerous... At least you can save any time, save often as always.

Anyway there's an interim solution for the stutters, hook up an external hdd. Any hardcore gamer that is more likely to be put off by a few stutters probable has one of those already for other things.

You and John2290 seemed opposed to buying Bethesda games before they are fixed! What happened to you two haha

Please let me know how it runs on PC once you get the chance to play it.

Yeah, that was a nice touch. I think they consulted EA on this move, personally...
