Forums - Sales - New reliable figure signalizes that psv is hugely overtracked! The error wouldn't be so big, if the huge adjusting up (due to a misapprehension) back in April had been avoided!PSV/PSP figures inside!

I haven't read the wall of text, but what are your estimates for Vita shipments by end of September 2015? Around 300k per quarter this calendar year, so about 10.7m LTD? That would pretty much match the Wii U.

In till end of year...  :p

Ok let's assume you're right. Still not a big deal. PSV is still selling shit at 12.6 million or 10.X million. It only matters to people who want Wii U's current 10.5 million to not be the shittiest. Accuracy is good, but people are only even giving this attention because of the implications for relative sales with Wii U.

This basically amounts to a pissing contest between 2 old men with prostate problems.

You're on a site that tracks sales, of course such a huge error is a big deal. And yes, after years of snarky comments by some Sony fans it is hilarious that the Vita is the one that is overtracked a lot.

Well that's where most people go wrong. This site does not track sales, never has. It has always relied on other verified sales information to calibrate their estimates, and when there is a complete lack of precise LTD shipment information the numbers will inevitably drift off course. If MS continues to not publish LTD shipments then Xb one sales will drift further and further into error. It really isn't a big deal. PSV has shitty sales, that fact hasn't changed that they are a bit more shitty than we thought yesterday is really of negligible consequence.

So, the guy who originally made this thread on GAF contacted CESA and got an update:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=184649300&postcount=88

Got a clarification on Vita LTD from CESA:
"The figures for PlayStation vita (PlaystationTV included) were estimated by CESA".

Vita LTD in 2015 CESA Games White Paper were an estimate by CESA, NOT shipment data by Sony.
Please disregard what I said.

And just for double proof, it seems this is the same guy that was your source in the OP:

Back to the drawing board, then :P

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE!!!

I really wish we could get official numbers. At this point I don't care how bad they are I just want to know.

I just found it hard to understand and follow your OP. Keep practicing though. Practice makes perfect!

That's happening when I make  a wall of text, or messing up with some maths/calculations, then I don't pay  so much attention to make my op conherent!

I understand you... The op is intricate, but just read the last paragraph!

I just wish I knew a second language. T^T

Well, looks like he has some more nuggets of information:

His calculations seem correct, at least, I just hope his information is legit this time around and not estimated :P

Unless this user on gaf is wrong (or just forgetting something), Sony's portable shipments as of March 2015 is 90.7 million.

82.3m + 10.21m = 92.51m, That leaves an extra 1.81m units.

The Vita numbers may in fact be right but that would mean the PSP numbers are off.

You're forgotting that Vita had already sold 1.8m up until that point :P

Sooo did he just not factor that in then? Also up to what point? Is that 1.8 million Vita figure sold or shipped? If sold wouldn't the total shipment number just encompass that?

Now I'm confused.

The Vita shipped 1.8m units until the end of March 2012. The NeoGAF user didn't account for that, so 82.3m PSPs and 10.21m PSVs are the correct numbers by the end of March 2015.

Cool, thanks for making it clear.
