I stay out of the Japan Amazon thread for the same reason, more or less. It has no predictive value and we already get a very accurate weekly report of Japan hardware and software sales from Media Create and Famitsu. And then there's the COMG pre-order thread.

It did cross my mind to bother with it or not for the reasons you gave. I don't expect a high volume of posts but at least it might interest some of us.

According to VGC, 25% of all Wii U's and 3DS's in Europe are sold in France while only PS4 only account for 15% of all sales in Europe.

Compare that to the UK where it accounts for 20% of 3DS sale and 22% of PS4 sales.

The first thing I've taken from this is it's clear that Europeans prefer buying their consoles from retailers. I think you're going to get a very skewed overall view of how things are going using these charts. Perhaps a pattern will eventually emerge but I wouldn't bet on it. It's up to you but it seems like a lot of work for very little relevant information. I would limit yourself to the three biggest European markets just to simplify it for yourself: UK/Germany/France.

It doesn't represent consumer habits in the same way US Amazon does. Even if a console is 20 places in front, it doesn't tell us which console is going to win. Like I said though, a pattern might emerge eventually.
