Fallout Van Buren (the original version of Fallout 3 until the license had to be sold. Still part of the Fallout canon, although only in broad strokes)
Heroes of Might & Magic 5 (In development at New World Computing until Ubisoft took over the license and killed of the entire original universe, leaving a bland High Fantasy setting instead of the originals science fantasy setting).
In that vein, also Heroes of Might & Magic 3 second expansion (The evil Forge ending of Might & Magic 7 was meant to be canon, which would have resulted in units based both on Fantasy and Tech for the new Forge Faction (like Minotaurs with Jetpacks and Wolverine Claws or Zombies with Circular Saws instead of arms and Goblins firing Blaster Rifles) HoMM fans who didn't know about the science background of the mainline series protested so much that NWC had to pull it from development mere weeks before release and replace them (and the story of M&M 8) with a bland elemental faction called the Conflux)
