Uncharted might be "lucky" it got delayed.

It might be the reason for delay. I know that's not the official reason but I've known games to alter their release date for 1 big game like GTA or COD nevermind several. Sony could of looked at the line up and thought "fuck that!"

Uncharted would have been mid-October, so it would have been fine. But Q1 next year is much better. It gets to shine all by itself.

TR deal was screaming it wouldn't work.
You take the game away from the platform that made it popular and always supported it the most, and try to put it against that platform that's is way more succesful than yours... not to say in the most heated time of the year.

Good for SE for getting some money, bad for showing being so prone to jump on any money.

But you're forgetting one big fact. MS helped fund the development of the game, they are publishing it, not Square Enix. This deal is similar to Sony's deal with Street Fighter 5, except Sony is keeping it console exclusive. I'm sure sony didnt help fund this game because it is a direct competitor to their Uncharted franchise.

MS saw an oppourtunity, and took it. regardless if it fails, MS helped make the game possible.

No,no and no.Please checkyour facts.Square nor CD ever said that MS is funding the game or publishing it.Amazon has Square listed as the publisher and so does every other site.Stop giving MS credit for something that they did not do and admit that they just money hatted the game because of their lack of exclusive franchise ownership.

If MS funded the game in the way it sounds then it wouldnt be coming out on PS4 at all.

What it could mean is that SE was over budget and did a deal for timed exclusivity and then that helped pay for continued development... different angle to come from. :D

Definitely sounds like what happened, especially considering it took the next gen versions for the original to become profitable.  They probably shopped around timed exclusivity to Sony and MS.  Sony would have passed on it since the PS3+PS4 outsold the 360+XBO versions by so much it would have been wasted money.  MS needed more exclusives to pad out their line up this year, so jumped at the chance.  Of course, bad buzz and poor pre-order numbers led them to announce the PS4 version a year before it even launches.  Before the XBO version even launched.

Looks like PlayStation is still beating Xbox even with the deals and bundles. It's a bit tighter, but still looks like they have a decent lead. Will be interesting to see how desperate MS will get. Be even more interesting to see if it does them any good. There IS a point at which deals stop having the big effects they do early on.

The game was going to happen regardless of the deal and this is nothing like Street Fighter V. SFV was going to happen, but allegedly not for a long while according to Ono. In addition, MS is very opposed to cross-platform play between the XBO and PC, something SFV will have.

MS are not opposed to cross platform at all, there are 3 games (Fable Legends, Sea of Thieves and Killer Instinct) I can think of that will have cross platform play when they are released.

Then I'll modify my statement. Microsoft is opposed to cross platform unless it's a 1st party game. We see 3rd party games like Final Fantasy XIV, Street Fighter V, and Rocket League not being on the XBO even though they are not PS4 exclusive.

If halo sales fell it might be selling like 50k in the US at retail each day.

You should also include steam hardware liek the steam link and other hardware that runs steam os. It would be interesting to see how it does compared to consoles.

Maybe the Street fighter angle was wrong, as Capcom is the only high profile company that will keep a game exclusive to consoles, but still release them  on PC. i.e Street fighter V for Sony, and dead Rising 3 for MS.

The point is, MS put more than marketing dollars behind it's exclusivity with Square Enix, This game could have been in the same boat as Shenmue 3 is, it needed more funding to be better than what they had. Square Enix has been spreading itself thin lately announcing alot of games/remakes this gen.

As much as this game is synonomous with the Sony brand, Sony was not going to help fund a direct competitor to one of it's 1st party franchises. Sony has been using most of it's money to lock up exclusivity with the FPS group of games. Where they have been inconsistent at best in making an 1st party exclusive FPS. Look at their advertising, Destiny, Star Wars Battlefront, and COD BLOPS3 have seen more air time, then Until Dawn, Blood Borne, and the Order.
