Forums - Gaming - What are you reasons for saying Zelda U will be able to compete with PS4 type visuals?

With simplified environment details, cel shading to hide lack of polygons and barren world it might look half decent. Comparing with PS4? Horizon zero dawn blows it out of the water. Being biased is one thing. And completely ignoring fact is another thing.

It simply will not be able to compete. No mans sky and horizon seem to have the larger, more detailed world, while maintaining just as colorful art style. Smash bros and mario kart 8 are the best the wii u has, but they would barely qualify as decent looking ps4 titles

This of course says nothing about gameplay

There are tons of Ps4 games that look worse than MK8, just take a look to Tales of Zesteria. Mk8 would be a  good looking game anywhere, with only a bit of antialiasing and higher resolution it would fit perfectly on PS4.

And also Smash the best graphics on WiiU?  Pikmin 3, Captain Toad, Mario 3DWorld, Yoshi´s Woolly World and Bayonetta 2 disagree with that.

Well, I hope that MK8 would look better than a PS3 game......

It won't compete, but Zelda's graphic style over the years, as well as Mario's, has been amazing! It can be a really really pretty game on a not so powerful platform.

I should make this thread:

Everywhere I look and everywhere I go, people keep saying "Zelda U would kill a gorilla in a knife fight". Personally, I don't believe this. Why do you think it would win the fight? And don't say because the controller is good.

Just take something nobody is saying, act like I'm tired of hearing it, and watch people defend something they never said I'm the first place. It'll be fun!

Super Mario 3D World and Mario Kart 8 have PS4/XOne like graphics and both run consistently at 60fps. Since Zelda is generaly a game that gets even more attention regarding technical aspects, it can have awesome graphics even with a huge open world, especially if we assume that it will run at 30fps.

In my opinion, there are tow companies that know how to use their own hardware: Nintendo and Apple. Both know how to match hardware and software incredibly well.

Not all ps4 games are optimized. Those games wouldn't be indicative of the ps4 type graphics. That's like saying devil's third is a true estimate of the wii u's graphical output.

Visually speaking, Mario kart 8 is pretty much the best looking wii u game. But even that looks like a decent looking ps4 game at best. Now we take a seemless open world game like zelda, and you can gaurantee it won't look like your average ps4 game (unless it takes a HUGE performance/gameplay cutback which Nintendo won't do)

Killzone shadowfall and infamous second son, ps4 launch titles, already blow away anything the wii u has. Given that they are launch titles, ps4 games will only look and play better from there

For a game with a flawless 60fps, this graphics look far from outdated, it looks fantastic, specially in movement. As I say before, if this was a Ps4 game but with antialiasing and 1080p nobody would have think that this graphics are out of place on this generation at all.
