Forums - Nintendo - GoldenEye on N64: Miyamoto wanted to remove the killing

What an odd alternative to killing people was Miyamoto suggesting they pull a SMB3 and the whole game was also just a play? That has to be one of the funniest suggestions I've ever heard from a game. It's also a bit adorable since it sounds like something a 7yr old would say v.v XD

Well, add that to the list of bad suggestions Miyamoto made..

That's cute. Given the games he directed are catered towards kids. But thank god Rare didn't listened to him.

Pffft.... thanks for almost ruining the game, Gandhi.

Let's blow this out of proportion!

If you say something like that I expect an example to follow...

So he tried to ruin the game? Good thing they ignored him!

no, apparently originally there was more gore like literally when a character tied guts or blood would explore from them. in 007 Goldenye currently there's just a little like red stains, much different

I understand where Miya was coming from and I agree that you have to find the right balance where it's not too distracting. the game turning out well. the handshake concept at the end sounds a bit silly and I'm glad that didn't happen because it would make just about zero sense

This is why Miyamoto shouldn't lead the company.. He's a legend, but he's tired, and that kind of idea is what Nintendo must avoid at all cost...
You can have your cute little games no problem man, but let other devs make their game, and don't interfere with them.

I think you might be tired though, goldeneye came out when Miyamoto was in his mid-fourties.

But he's still in that spirit. Censorship isn't gone. Absolute violence or sex isn't needed to make a good game, but it's silly to interfere in a game you're not on.
Miyamoto is very conservative, if it wasn't for Iwata pushing Sakurai to continue when Miyamoto disagreed on Sakurai using the mascotts for Smash Bros., there wouldn't be a franchise.

Unfortunately, Paper Mario team listen to his "suggestions".

WTF... No wonder third parties jumped ship during the 5th generation consoles...

What do 3rd parties have to do with Miyamoto?

Are you talking about Fatal Frame? Because he's not involved in that at all. Not even close.
