So I am wondering do you think the Wii U will get a price cut this holiday season? I know Nintendo is trying to plan on moving towards NX in 2016/17 but I feel like they would still want to sell as many Wii U's as possible, and seeing how its almost the same price as the XBO and PS4, consumer incentive to buy it at the $299.99 price point seems low. I feel like Nintendo should just slash the price to $249.99 or even as low as $199.99 to push units. However some may argue that they simply don't care since they are also focusing on the NX, and cutting the price may not matter to them at this point. So what do you think?

P.S. Also my first topic I posted since joining here like a year ago...go figure.

They should cut it. If I thought the NX was going to be BC I would say forget it and stop taking losses on the system. But since I don't, they should still try to sell as many units as they can. They put money into Wii U software titles, so it would be ridiculous to just abandon them. The Wii U still has never been at a very appealing price point, and once it gets there I think it can move some units. Lose money on the system, gain it back in software.

They're delusional if they think they're okay with a $300 price tag.

I agree, but the closer we get to Black Friday the more I worry that they won't drop it.

Nope. They're dragging the Wii U's corpse as far as they can with as little help as possible. The price has barely changed since launch, I doubt they'll change it anytime soon. If any price cut does happen, it won't be from Nintendo, but from stores wanting to rid themselves of excess stock

I don't think so. It would have happened by now. But they should. No one wants to buy them with the NX on the way.

No, at this point it wouldn´t make a difference

It really should, but I doubt it will happen.. at most I can see $50 price cut and what I would expect is $25 if anything

Any lower, and it would be the same price range as the n3DS XL, so Nintendo will most likely keep the price up and sell more bundles :/

I work retail, a lot of people really want to buy a Wii U, however they all say the same thing, they can't justify the price point when they can get so much more for the same price on XBO and PS4 :| (pre-owned systems are about the same cost of a Wii U)

I was using hyperbole. No one = not enough to be significant.
