They are fun, bunch of fellow gaming type people (a few people that just go to events too) it's fun. Wear comfortable shoes, as you might have to stand in a line for a time - or just stand in general. It's not a bad idea to bring little business cards or something with your gamertag if you want to connect with new people and not give out your phone #.

I say get in line early, and start talking to the people around you. Some might be too shy, but sometimes it turns out a fun way to meet people.

If you have the game reserved, there's not much point to stand in line as you can just go pick it up at your leisure.
It's fun but in the past year or so, I've heard of several game stops being robbed with ppl standing outside for midnight releases. Just be careful.

The last launch event I went to was for the PS3 in 06 with my brother. The local radio, newspaper and tv station came and interviewed several of us, including me, which I later found out my boss heard me on the radio lol

Fun times but I probably wouldn't do it again at my age.

Pick it up? Nah digital. No waiting. No going anywhere just wait for it to unlock. 😊

Not as glamorous, but I'm standing in line at a Best Buy in Ontario. They're handing out a 1TB console, 2 controllers, 2 games, and 2 headsets. Hopefully it rains and my odds go up.

No girls, long time waiting in the cold, surrounded by nerds, had no drinks with me.. and then it turned out Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun was just an above average game...
