How long are X360 Live Gold Members going to keep their subscriptions,

Decades. Xbox is the only subscription based service that offers backwards compatibility as standard.

360 levels + 30%? Of course it will, after all Sony actively stood up and yelled "Charging for online play is the best"...it's practically a cartel.

xbox live will become a platform unified service sooner or later
they just need to figure out how ms will put enough value inside, appeal to customer and still makes a decent profit.

i could see deals and games with gold coming to windows 10
i could see cloud based streaming xbox games to windows 10, if you don't have a xbox console, to play them
(that would be the perfect way to bring xbox one exclusives to the windows 10 platform, without devalueing the xbox console exclusive lineup)
they will ofc not require xbox live gold for online play

but this are just my thought. i don't know what ms will do with xbox live gold. i just know they will do somthing windows 10 relatetd.
because xbox is microsofts gaming brand / service. its not (only) theire homeconsole. not anymore

XBOX shipments last quarter: 1.4 million. ( Estimate: 1.1m XB1 / 300k 360 )

XBOX shipments this quarter: ?

NPD XB1 sales last quarter: 623,000 [ 187k / 139k / 297k]

NPD XB1 sales this quarter: 672,000 [ 189k / 202k / 281k] ( +8% compared to last quarter )

You think XB1 has ship 1.9 million when it sold LESS THAN 700K in the US? How is even possible? You think MS has ship OVER 75% XB1 compared to last quarter when in the US they sold just 8% MORE?

Lat year XBOX total shipments was 2.4 million, most estimate has 1.7 million XB1 and 700k 360.

You think XB1 is up YOY this quarter in shipments? Did you forget last year XB1 is coming in many new countries?

XB1 is most likely under 1.5 million shipped this quarter. Probabily 1.3/1.4 million XB1 and 300/400k 360 for a total of 1.6 / 1.8 million XBOX shipped, way less than last year 2.4 million. That's probabily one of the reason for why MS didn't released any XBOX shipments this time.

I think the bolded and italicized part is very important. Remember, in September 2014, Microsoft released the XBO in the following countries:

  • Argentina
  • Belgium
  • Chile
  • China
  • Colombia
  • Czech Republic
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • Greece
  • Hungary
  • India
  • Israel
  • Japan
  • Korea
  • Netherlands
  • Norway
  • Poland
  • Portugal
  • Russia
  • Saudi Arabia
  • Singapore
  • Slovakia
  • South Africa
  • Sweden
  • Switzerland
  • Turkey
  • UAE

MS shipped 100K in China and sold through ~31K in Japan for September 2014. And then, we need to take into shipments for the other 25 countries. We don't have any data on that, but it's pretty safe to say that the the total shipments for the 27 "Tier 2" markets made up a significant chunk of the 2.4 million Xbox family shipments. That kind of performance just cannot simply be replicated because MS isn't launching the XBO in any other market.

Good day to have MSFT in the portfolio. :)

This is the oldest argument that has been used in umpteen threads in umpteen forums.

Never made it true, however.

XBox One was available in Europe right from day one. Actually, availability for it was way better than for the PS4 in the early weeks/months (due to the latter being often sold out). In the early days, you could walk into any MediaMarkt-like shop and buy an XBox One. That is because Microsoft does not sell consoles, it is shops and Megacorps like Mediamarkts (who are all over mainland Europe) that sell consoles.

You say DECADES, for real? Are you saying people who had X360 and bought Live for Online Multiplayer are going to keep subscribing for decades? I say bullshit. X360 is dying and those who still have only X360 and Live subscription will want to upgrade sooner or later. They will migrate to PC, PS4, XB1, Nintendo and some will quit gaming, MS will lose Live subscriptions with the death of X360 and that's it. And no, please do not start with the utopia talk again. With all the numbers we have, it is not realistical to estimate XB1 to overperform X360 sales by 30% in the long run.

I cannot imagine toilet-free life.

Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

What the hell are you talking? Some shops offering imported XB1 consoles is a bit different than a nationwide official retailer channel push or in this case continent wide, lol.

MediaMarkt is not "some shops". Learn who is behind it, how they operate (continental Europe wide), and why it was completely irrelevant why MS did or did not launch "officially" in those countries you listed,  in the early days.

Translation: "I don't like this argument. Therefore, it's wrong!"

So there are some shops that import XBO's to countries that haven't officially got the console yet. So what? Unless you show a citation that shows that sales did not change at all before and after launch, you're merely conjecturing. While I don't trust VGC's numbers, I at least do trust the fact that the XBO had quite a sizeable boost in sales during the week it was released in the Tier 2 countries. The site does some sort of sampling and apparently, it detected quite an uptick.

I really want to know the xb1 shipments even if it's combined with xb360.

Considering the sales of the Xbox 360 are fairly low now, it would mostly just be Xbox One numbers.  (Unless I completly missed something.)

Plus, seems will still ahead of the 360 over same time period.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

Of course MS aren't doing anything wrong by hiding shipments but it would of been nice to see how well they are doing.
