Forums - Nintendo - Pokken Tournament underperforming in Japanese arcades

I hear it really plays horribly, like, a full second of lag time before the attack pulls through. Harada definitely wasn't kidding around when he intended it to be accommodating younger players.

Only 9 playable pokemon? WTF is with that?

Anyways if people aren't playing the arcade version to me that makes a lot of sense. Why would you want to keep paying for an arcade version when you could just wait a bit and have a nice home console version which will have plenty of extra features.

The arcade scene is still relatively big in Japan especially as far as fighting games are concerned, though I believe the tax hike a while back put a sharp dent in it overall.  The whole thing just seems like it's designed for home consoles anyway, the cabinet itself doesn't even use fighting sticks, instead opting for a clunky looking controller, maybe to get people prepared for using the gamepad when the wii u version comes out.

I could have sworn I've seen more than 9 Pokemon already revealed for the game, but I guess not that's really underwhelming.

There are a handful of other pokemon but they're only assists, they're basically used as extra special moves you don't control them directly.

Played the game yesterday. It was okay not spectacular.
