If you limit yourself to one brand you are only limiting the scope of what can be seen in gaming. You can be delusional and tell yourself you HAVE to buy from Company A in order to show your devotion and support. But at the end of the day Company A doesn't give a single fuck about you, even if you're a huge fan. Try what Company B and C have and see what they have to offer as opposed to A. If you don't like it, stay loyal to A. If you found something you like from B or C, great!

I'll never understand the mental barrier people put in front of themselves that disallows them to enjoy other things outside the one console manufacturer. It only hinders their own potential enjoyment. In short, you can be a "true" fan of anything, even if you try other things.

But if you buy more consoles you play less games on each console and miss out on all the hidden gems, because you play all these must have and blockbuster games from 2,3 or 4 platforms (including pc).

I play only on playstation and don't miss out on anyhing (I know very well what games are on pc, wii u or xbox) I can't or don't even play all games I may find interesting on one platform why should I buy a second or a third?

So this whole argument is bullshit that you limit yourself with one platform. Like this for example:

1 platform where you play 60 games on

2 platform where you play 30 games on each

3 platform where you play 20 games on each

....

doesn't make that much of a difference to me.

to the thread: Yeah funny thread I guess, hope he is not ernte.

You can still be a fan of McDonalds and go get a Whopper every once in a while. See what I'm saying? Nintendo isn't gonna have every good game on their platforms but a lot of my favorite franchises are made by them. Series like Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Tales, Star Ocean, Persona, Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Kingdom Hearts, Fable...some of my most favorite franchises...I couldn't do without them.

I don't think you quite understand the point of my comment

I feel like the entire premise of this question is flawed. My god just buy good products people, not company loyalty!

Prediction for console Lifetime sales:

Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million

[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]

3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m

I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.

of course not, if your spending money on any form of entertainment thats not from Nintendo your not a true fan. In fact if your not buying 2 copies of every game and have not bought a 3ds for every child in your local school, then basically your just a nintendo fan wannabe.

This is the best mindset to have.

Blind company loyalty does far more for the company than it ever does for the consumer.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21

:D

Well, for the most part I've only ever owned Nintendo consoles because I always felt like that was enough for me. But with this gen, I'm really starting to think about buying a PS4. Wii U has been fun but....no Zelda yet, no Metroid, no Galaxy-style 3D Mario....it hasn't really been as great as last gen in terms of that. So yeah, I'll probably get a PS4 later this year, but I will still consider myself a huge Nintendo fan.

Who caaaaaaaaaaaaaares!? Like, seriously, what does being a Nintendo fan even mean? Who cares if you fit in some ridged or loose categorization of being a fan of something? Human beings are complex creatures with complex thoughts and opinions. No one is some perfect, card board cut-out, fan of anything. You like some shit and you don't like some other shit. Who cares if that makes you a Nintendo fan or not?

Just like what you like, be happy with that, and go eat a sandwich. Or not. You don't have to like sandwiches, either.

That's related to which console is first in your prefences if wii u is first then you're a Nintendo fan,if it's not and xb1 or ps4 is,then you're a sony playstation fan or Microsoft xbox fan and a Nintendo gamer/admirer together!:P So I would like a maybe option in the poll!:P

Sorry, I have to disagree here. I prefer my PS4 to my Wii U. However I buy Nintendo consoles every gen, because I love their games. Zelda is my favourite franchise. I think there are one or two Zelda games I have't played yet. The fact that I like my PS4 more, does not mean I'm not a Nintendo fan.
