Star Wars should have the largest opening week ever.
Like doing 1 billion just on its opening isn't far fetched at all.
Also tomorrow's trailer should get more than 100 million views in a day or so.

I haven't looked into the character beyond what I saw in the trailers. I just found it strange that they would lerave out Luke from the poster if he is in the film. |
More than likely he just doesn't have that huge of a role in the story. Plus there are multiple posters for these types of movies, I doubt this'll be the only final poster for 7. Remember, we never see more than Luke's hand in the trailer. It could be that he is also disfigured or dies early on. Based off what is publically known of Kylo Ren, he's the least likely person to be Luke. What is more interesting than Kylo's role is Luke's role. We really have little to no information on his character and what he does in 7. I feel as though he'll probably be killed off like ObiWan in 4

Mixed race people like Obama are usually a paler colour though, can't really say the same for Boyega. Besides there's also the fact that he was a Stormtrooper. Don't think Luke would have let his son join the Empire |
Yes, I agree, but I wouldn't ask for proper genetics from Hollywood. Or consistent plots haha. Though Luke might not know he had a son.
I like it. The two jedi weapons in parallel next to each other is an interesting touch.

Well I don't think the size of Luke's role in the story would warrant removing such a huge icon from the poster. I forgot that we saw Luke's hand in the trailer, and apparently we also hear his voice at the end of the second one. Which I guess most people would see as confitrmation that he's in the film. But the poster seems to suggest that they still want to surprise people with the fact that he'll appear in it visually, and perhaps also by how he now looks. Though the latter could have easily been obscured in the poster, while just showing his lightsaber. |
I guess we'll have to see. I'll see you in tomorrow's thread for the trailer!
XD

| Hiku said: While things like that are possible, I think it would require an explanation, as it would undoubtedly confuse many people who aren't aware of this. Kinda don't expect the movie to start explaining things like that in one of the scenes. It would feel awkward, wouldn't it? |
Or maybe it's just a Barret-Marlene type situation.

Maybe Luke decided to raise him because he found him alone or something, and sensed the Force was strong in him.
Then we could expect in episode 9 the big reveal of having Luke telling Boyega: "You are adopted", giving a little nod to the big reveal of Luke being the son of Darth Vader.
Is there any info on the words "Kylo Ren" meaning "step father" in German by any chance?

| Hiku said: Or "I am not your father." And Boyega goes: "No... That's not true. That's impossible!" |
Exactly.
J.J. Abrams must be feeling all figured out right now if he's reading all this. There goes your plans on keeping the story a secret J.J.
