All the information matches with that old info that says that AMD was making a x86 / arm chip for a 2016 gaming device.

Are you going to deny this or something? They are the source for this story by the way, they're not just "reporting it". 

As someone who works in finance I agree, WSJ aren't some outlet that is just dismissed like a number of gaming outlets these guys tend to know something at least. NX is out in 2016, Wii U is still my favourite Nintendo console as its library is class but NX arrives in at least one region next year.

With how the U is performing why would Nintendo wait until 2017? Someone answer this? MS did the same replacing the Xbox with the 360 when it became clear the is no point playing out the rest of that gen, a possible first year line up of DQX, DQXI, FFXIV, Zelda, Mario is a nice touch and if they can get a Pokemon game out by the end of the NX's first year they'd be off to a strong start. a 9th gen console is out next year.

I mean, I'm fully on board the NX in 2016 bandwagon at this point.

But Wii U devkits were distributed before E3 2011, well over a year and a half before launch. A year and a half from now would be...

So two of these threads are floating because of rumors. ugh.

Only problem with all of this is, SE, Ubisoft, EA, Konami, Capcom and Activision all have not received any SDK for NX what so ever, still waiting on feedback from Atlus, Tecmo, XSEED and Sega but I'm not holding my breath at any of them having received the supposed SDK's either.

If the rumor is true I think it's gonna be a great deal more powerfull than the PS4 and would not be hard to do at Christmas 2016.  If the NX is more powerfull than the ps4 and indications are that a decent portion of cross platform games will be coming to the system I will sell my ps4, 3ds, and wiiu and put that money towards an nx console and nx handheld. If only on par I will probably keep the ps4 and buy nx console and handheld for exclusives.
