No. No it is not. Saying that an NX port is under consideration is not confirmation.

Even if it does end up coming to Nintendo's platform, the amount of assumption you're making is absurd.

Yeah, and they "considering" FFXIV. I wonder why not any other dev has announced they are "considering" ports to NX...

Maybe because when you are only considering there's no point in announce it? Maybe because it won't be smart to announce they are only "considering" an NX version that could lower the sales of the 3DS version?

Square has also said they were considering bringing FF14 to Xbox 1 for years. A developer expressing a desire for something to happen doesn't mean that it's going to happen. I see it as nothing more that it could happen, but Square and nintendo are still working it out.

What possibility does the Xbox 1 have on Japan? Now, what possibilities does the NX have in the same Japan?

Again, NX is about combining handheld and console. Combine 3DS and Wii U first party libraries and you can have an ideo of what NX is. Third parties doesn't matter a lot. NX is 2016 and everything about the theory of Fusion is becoming reality. Just accept it and move one.

Monster Hunter and Youkai Watch aren't important?  It would be interesting to see Nintendo tell third-party developers and publishers that they have Fusion now and don't need anyone else.  That would be quite interesting.

Western. DQXI & FFXIV are already announced for NX. And, where else are they going to develop MH or YW? Vita? Come on.

No they are not. A developer saying they have interest in doing something doesn't mean it's already announced for that platform. They've been wanting to bring FF14 to X1 for years....

Why would SE mentioned NX (console we don't know anything) version of DQ XI at all if they are just considering it!?

Reality was that they annuced games for NX but after Nintendo give them a call and said to them "we still did not reveal NX and nobody knows what NX is, but you already announcing games, WTF!?", SE stated that they only considering NX version of game.

Yeah I can see Square-Enix pivoting away from their PS4 + XB1 multiplat approach, to replace that with PS4 + NX instead.

XB1 just has no traction in Japan whatsoever, so no wonder they already (pretty much) are talking NX for Dragon Quest XI. Kingdom Hearts III and Final Fantasy XV are probably coming too if these hardware reports are correct.

Surely a site called "NintendoForums" couldn't be wrong, lol.

Well, I don't rule out for the name, but mostly because I'm not expecting a powerful hardware. Leading industry chips fit with my idea, but not about power, but about how modern are those.

wall street journal seems to think the same

And so it all begins. I look forward to all the speculation and rumours from here on out. Hopefully Nintendo does great with whatever the NX is.

It's gonna be a fun ride.

So, please forgive my ignorance here, but what exactly is a Dev kit? Like, are they sending out actual units of the system? Or is it just like some software stuff? Could anyone fill me in?

At least the "no way can NX launch in 2016!" parade can finally die.

It's coming out next year guys. Learn to live with that.

A full year out from launch means devs should have plenty of time to make multi-plats, and it also means Nintendo themselves have likely be working on games for an additional 8-9 months in hard development.

A rumor is confirmation now? You truly are desperate aren't you? We are still debating its power.

I was under the impression that Nintendo were alreadz giving development kits in E3.Oh well
But this just serves to reinforce the idea that NX will likely be comming at 2017 the earliest. If they really are just giving development kits now, companies will just have 1 year to get the hang of it, and develop and/or port games to it.Its just too little time, and i dont think Nintendo is going to simply ditch third party.

I was under the impression that PS4 dev kits only came out months before launch. This shouldn't be an issue at all.

Uh, no.  Dev kits were out more than a year before it launched.  In late 2012 we started hearing rumors about the specs of these machines.  Back when the PS4 was known as the Orbis and the XBO was known as the 720 or Durango.

One year is plenty of time to port a game. Third parties don't make exclusives for anyone anymore, so they don't need to "learn" every nuance of the system, they just need to be able to port some titles for the launch ... dev kits hitting now totally points to a November 2016 launch.

It means developers who are working on projects launching in fall 2016 (like ahem Dragon Quest XI or a FIFA 17 or whatever) can easily accomodate NX versions right now. As long as the hardware can actually handle a port without forcing developers to have to bend over backwards, one year is plenty of time for dev houses.

You're desperate, man. Dev kits are out, Wallstreet Journal is not some rumor rag, it's the largest financial paper in the Western world.

Wii U is done. Enjoy it for what it is and accept it.
