This isn't splatoon, seeing as though the other consoles have a party chat system, and the wiiu has no party chat whatsoever, it may make it inconvenient but, the option is there.

I am sure that is the case somewhat, but even the movie is being released based on the Holiday schedule.  I am a big Star Wars fan and can't wait for both the game and the movie.  But, if they told me we have to release the game(or the movie) 90-180 days later to get it fully functioning, I would prefer that.

Why are people even surprised? The consoles have built in party chat it only makes sense that they shift resources away from that feature when it already exists on the consoles.
In-game chat just isn't a necessity these days. Especially on PC. We've have much more robust options available for years with TeamSpeak et al.

At this juncture I can't fathom why people are shocked or disappointed by this bit of non-news.

This is the least of their problems.

But splatoon had a single player and lots of free DLC :p

Maybe that's why Luke skywalker didn't respond to my pleas for mercy... Ain't my fault I was drafted into the empire's military, and there ARE some benefits to a United galaxy.

But with options to still play and talk to your friends.

How fun, I could very likely make a joke about Splatoon but I won't, why ?
1-it's still Nintendo's fault if the Wii U itself doesn't have a voice chat service;
2-I would just feed the flames and such a thing isn't in my interest, so next time people please don't start flames, ok ? ok.
