What does that matter? Do you think it'll be a big difference with 3 more days added on to it?

If that's your argument it's seriously weak. The ratio one is a much better conclusion.

Maybe. But Halo and FPS is bigger in UK. What do you expect? 2 Days of UCC suddenly tops Halp MCC's sales of 5 days and during November. Lol

This is Sony's big 1st party holiday exclusive though. It shouldn't have these underwhelming numbers. There are people betting on if it will outsell Rise of the Tomb Raider. We'll have to see how it turns out but the numbers might be a little closer than predicted.

Price, advertising, word of mouth?

So you're saying the Nathan Drake Collection will sell consoles.

No, Drive Club and Little big planet didn't sell consoles, but the majority of their sales derived by bundle

Yeah if you're gonna make such claims, you'll need to provide a source for that.

You are right. But DC was out of the UK charts and re-entered the charts when it was heavily bundled. When the bundles disappeared, the game disappeared from the charts. Of course this could be unrelated and coincidende but I rather believe it was causality.

While, I agree with you, it still doesn't prove bundles are responsible for the majority of their sales. Some sales? Sure. Majority? Maybe. Source needed.

VGC doesn't have first week numbers for all the Halo games in the UK, but at least worldwide, each mainline xbox 360 entry in the Halo franchise has shown to have approximately the same first week numbers, regardless of installbase (Halo 3: 3.8 million, Halo Reach: 3.6 million, Halo 4: 3.6 million). From that I think we can safely assume that the Halo franchise's sales isn't tied much to the installbase at all.

Uncharted's first week sales have increased together with installbase, but it could be argued that that's because franchise growth rather than installbase. In any case, if Uncharted's sales are tied to installbase, while Halo's sales evidently aren't, that would sort of be a benefit to Uncharted, rather than Halo.

TL;DR

If MCC and NDC both had launched this holiday, I don't think MCC had sold substantially more, simply because the Halo franchise has proven to be largely unnaffected by installbase. UCC may or may not have sold less had it launched last holiday, however I doubt it.

Either way, they both had similar ratios compared to their respective series, so I would say both performed basically equally well.

Well if install bases don't change much it makes me think these percentages they've been throwing don't have a lot of purpose. The whole "80% of players haven't played Uncharted" seems more of an excuse to make it than a reason.

Ummm... Not sure how that's relevant to this dicsussion lol. But if you like, then the reason NDC exists is because Sony thinks it'll sell enough to make a nice slump of money, and will generate some hype for UC4. The amount of people that have migrated from the 360 and Wii (40% iirc) is of course relevant to the sales potential of NDC, and it's also relevant to the sales of UC4 (those 40% wouldn't want to play UC4 without having played UC1 and 2 and 3, right?). The reason is because they think it'll make them money. This shouldn't surprise anyone. That's the same reason MS are making Forzas annually, and why they made the MCC. It's why Nintendo have made at least one 2D Mario for the last 4 consoles they've made. etc.

Why would Sony need to excuse them making the NDC? Let's be real here, very few people are genuinely angry at Sony for remastering their most popular current franchise, and the sales impact from those few people are so miniscule Sony couldn't really give two shits about it. For Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo, and any other big company out there, the money talks. Not the forums. It's not like Apple cares about all the flak they get for having overpriced phones, they make wads of cash and are the highest valued company in the world anyway.

Well that depends if UCC decides stops selling  cause hey discounts and bundles aren't a thing and ROTR won't hopefully get buried by the november launch of like how many games are releasing in november btw.

what were people expecting form the UC master, it is going to sell 3m no problem in the end, such easy money for sony & ND

This is the UK chart though cause f*** europe and the world or something like that.

I will pick up the Uncharted Collection, when it will be the first time for a good Price on PSN-Sale for example, i dont need it now, right now im only playing Fifa and when Bo3 is out soon there wont be any other Game that i will be playing ! Bo3 which is for ME the Best Game of 2015, maybe even in Years, i was so hyped for the Beta and it was Amazing, never got sick of 8it and i played SOOOO much.
And there were just 4 maps, no Leaque Play which im most excited for, not all guns/streaks and modes like Ground War, damn i cant wait for this Game.

Until Far Cry or Uncharted there are no other Games i need to play. Fifa and Bo3 is more than enough for me, but i will surely pick up Uncharted Collection at some point like maybe a lot of People for a lower Price later, maybe when the Dead Zone of Gaming arrives next year again.

I brought it up because I was talking about install bases. They have all these new gamers (40%) and non-Uncharted players (40%) yet they don't jump on one of the biggest Sony franchises? Meanwhile, Xbox One has a majority of people who have already played Halo. Yet they still got MCC. There's gotta be another factor at play for the lower sales with the vastly larger install base.
