Forums - Gaming - Does XB1 still have any chance of winning October NPD?

Considering right now Amazon ranking look like this:

10- PS4 Battlefront LE Bundle (November)

19- PS4 TLOU Bundle

22- PS4 Uncharted Bundle

25- PS4 Destiny Bundle

38- XB1 Halo 5 Bundle

40- PS4 CoD Bundle (November)

63- PS4 Battlefront Bundle (November)

79- XB1 Gears Bundle

Now I've come to terms with the fact that PS4 will take November and December for sure.

But seeing how there's 3 October PS4 bundles topping the charts before the first XB1 bundle even shows up, October is also looking like a lost cause. I thought it was bad when PS4 won NPD when Titanfall launched but not winning NPD when Halo 5 Launches will be a hard punch to the gut.

Maybe MS can do a limited 3 day price drop when Halo 5 launches to perhaps $250 to make sure they win October NPD.

Does NPD track bundles? I don't think so iirc.

Even if bundles were tracked, if MS ran out of bundles, it wouldn't be enough to make up in a week what was sold in a month.

Halo 5 bundles won't even move until October 27, 2015,

That is not true.

Preorders counts for Oct NPD.

No chance anymore after the price cut

From those amazon rankings no way, battlefront is above Halo 5 and it's out AFTER Halo 5.

Drop 100 bucks just to 'win'?!

I hardly think the higher ups at Microsoft care too much about winning npd, more about selling as many as they can even if it's less than ps4

And at an inflated price.  I mean $499 for a XBO w/ Halo 5, and it doesn't even include Kinect.  I hardly see that helping MS's cause.  If it were $399, it would be a definite XBO win.  But what we have now is an overpriced XBO bundle going against the PS4's first price cut, which makes it the same price as a XBO, again.  I really see Sony winning this one.

For the life of me, I don't know how October became so important. Even then, one month out of twelve is nothing to brag about. M$ should just sell as much as they can. Don't worry about beating Sony.

It's not just about a single NPD win. It's about interrupting PS4's NPD streak. This October is the last chance they have to keep their record.

The Halo 5 bundle wasn't doing very much before this month, either.  I think it was only mid-late last month it even entered the Top 100.  I remember looking a month before that and it was in the 1,000s.
