PS4 gets an official price drop starting tomorrow while Halo releases at the tail end of this month, so I think PS4 wins.

Now, if Microsoft announces another price drop within the next week or so they'll win it easily.

Can someone edit out the Good VS Evil. Seems like something that one would only use to start a flamewar.

How can you seriously believe Sony would not kick Microsoft out of the gaming market if they could? Same goes from Microsoft. Both of them are here to win and sometime Sony wins, sometime Microsoft does. But both are big co

Both are not trying to do that.  I suspect Sony could rid MS of the console space rather easily; It's not in their best interest to do so though because they benefit from the competition. MS conversely created Xbox to stop Playstations growth as a brand in what they percieved as a threat to the PC space.  Additionally the means to which each company are willing to go through for success is not parallel to each other.  We have little to few examples of Sony buying their success as opposed to generating it, or devaluing their brand to maintain marketshare.  On a moral level, I find it much easier to justify the purchase of a PS4 over an X1.

@ the bold - This is not a matter of your opinion on the fun factor of first party titles.  This is a matter of your opinion on 1st party IP creation.

Halo - Bought from an independent company.

Gears of War - Bought from an independent company.

Minecraft - Bought from an independent company.

Fable - Bought from an independent company.

What major IPs are left afterward that they had a hand in creating?

Forza; There's more, I know there's more so I'm sure you'll be able to list them off.

Sony the company was the underdog, you know this from reading one of my previous posts.  By extension of that, and given the massive loss of marketshare during the 7th gen world wide, let alone in the US, you can say from looking at sales trends that they came into the 8th gen as an underdog - We had a bankrupt Sony and the massive failure that was the PS3 combined with the then recent PSN hacking.  They were absolutely an underdog who were operating on razor thin margins.

You are aware that Sony bought most of its current first party studios such as Naughty Dog, right?  How on earth is Sony an underdog,  they crushed 6th gen, pretty much tied 7th gen and are doing excedingly well this gen.   your perception is not reality bruh.

Sony should win, but I expect MS to dominate the NPD in November.

The pricecut may have a very big effect.

Doing 2/3rds in sales on a new platform and being dominated in North America is a massive loss no matter how you cut it. And Sony acquired a great deal of these studios in the 90's when they were essentially indie developers and basically nurtured them into some of the prolific groups we know today.

There were TONS of doom and gloom articles floating around talking about their financial woes, the serious possibility of bankruptcy and what some analysts thought would be their ultimate demise.  A key component to this strategy was the success of PlayStation. This put them back on the map and it's giving their main brands relevence to the modern world.  The fact is Microsoft was trending up in market penetration worldwide and in America, while Sony had lost tremendous momentum last gen. It's absurdly hard to lose that kind of marketshare and then reverse the situation one platform later.  We see very few examples of it among other tech giants. They couldn't compete financially either so it's kind of funny to say they weren't the underdog coming into this

Don't really know. Why is this considered good vs evil though?

Official Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Thread

The price cut I think ices it for the PS4.

Even before the price cut all indications were that the PS4 was steadily and substantially outselling the X1. The first price cut just adds a lot of new push for sales.

I also think that Halo 5 is not going to push a serious amount of hardware. To do it right they should have a 1TB Halo 5 bundle for $349. That would have sold pretty well. But I still think that a large portion of the remaining Halo fans have already bought an X1 due to MCC.

Halo 5 seems to have negligible fanfare, hype, and marketing. Compared to the machine that launched Titanfall, it's barely registering. TF blanketed the internet and was inescapable. H5 I can't remember seeing a single advert for so far.

I don't get it either. Evil vs Evil sounds more like it

very hard to pick. Would be easily Xbone if Halo 5 was going to be available for more than just a few days of the month, the hype and amount of people that have been waiting for that is pretty large.
