Shantae imho isn't that good of a character, I'd prefer Shovel Knight/Runbow/someone else

Shovel Knight is going to be in, which is good because he's the one I would've chosen between him and Shantae. Nothing against Shantae but I just haven't gotten into it yet. I think SK will be the token indie rep, and deservedly so. I mean, SK has already outsold a good five or so characters' games, and Smash is and always has existed solely as cross-promotion anyway. But that doesn't matter because Roy is totally iconic guys and we need him.

I think at this point, Shovel Knight has but, been confirmed, to be in it.

Shantae would fit pretty well, but so would Shovel Knight, but Shantae has more a history on Nintendo platforms so personally I would give her the nod.

Honestly, if a Indie was getting in, I'd rather they appear as assist trophy rather then full on playable character.
