Forums - Nintendo - What does Zelda U have to score for you to not consider it a let down?

Nothing. I have to enjoy it.

Wether reviewers award it a 5 or a 10, its meaningless to me.

I don't care about critics since they can be corrupted, of course it would be good if Zelda U scored over 95 but we all know there will be that random reviewer that has never played a Nintendo game in his life that'll give the game a 65

For me to not consider it a let down it has to score: me enjoying playing it.

Numerical value assigned to a game from someone else means nothing to me, especially for established IP.

People can say "critics don't matter as long as I like it" all they want, but when it comes to landmark, generation-defining games, they always score very well with everyone, not just fans of the game. GTA 5, Last of Us, Zelda:OoT... these games don't need fans lobbying and saying they are awesome. It is just universally accepted. This is what I want from Zelda Next. I don't want a game that, upon it's conclusion, inspires debates about the "worst 3D Zelda". I want a game beyond reproach. I will enjoy the game, regardless, but unless it's a landmark title, I will be at least slightly disappointed. I want a game with a 95+ Meta.

The score doesn't matter. Zelda games don't do 60's for me to ignore it. What would make me not buy it, is if they copy the Skyward sword hand holding. And Fi character spam.

Considering they delayed to polish and add new mechanics, with all the time they have spent and that Aonuma is a brilliant mind that everything he makes is perfect, at least a 96. Anything below will be a big failure.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

The score is the last thing i consider, before deciding whether it's a disappointment or not...

Playing: F1 2016 (PC), Uncharted: The Lost Legacy (PS4)
Watching: Hajime no Ippo, Attack on Titan (4th time)
Upcoming purchases in October:
-TBD

Score is irrelevant for me but the franchise on home consoles has a baseline above 90 so I'd expect Zelda U to match that.

Like everyone else, I mainly care that I like it. That said, if I like it and it scores badly I'll be disappointed and vice versa.

93-94

I bought a wii u hoping for mario kart, smash bros, zelda, 3d mario, and other games

mario kart 8 fell below expectations, smash bros was on par, I still don't view mario 3d world as a true 3d mario game, and there weren't any surprise critical hits.

Therefore zelda needs to be really good to restore my trust in Nintendo's quality. AKA, Zelda U has to be a critical hit like most of it's predecessors.
