Forums - Gaming - Reasons why the PS4 could win October's NPD

Do you think these reasons are good enough for a ps4 win?

yes 175 49.02%

no 95 26.61%

maybe 65 18.21%

see result 22 6.16%

Total:357

I think a pretty big factor to add to the list, and one that really hadn't been on anyone's radar prior to September, was the near universal critical praise and renewed gamer interest in Destiny with the release of The Taken King expansion.  Destiny is experiencing a rebirth, of sorts, with many former players who'd lost interest now jumping back in with TTK. Their renewed interest and the mediahype  translated into a lot of new users picking up the PS4 Taken King bundle (see Amazon rankings for the past 5-6 weeks for proof)

IMHO, Destiny: The Taken King is the one unexpected wild card that really pushed PS4 sales in September, and its momentum is continuing into October. Will it be a factor in standing up to Halo 5? Maybe not, but here it is Oct 3rd and that Destiny bundle is still in the 'teens on the Amazon charts.

I don't know. XBone will win in NA, sure, but is Halo big enough to push the system against the PS4 in Europe? With Japan ignoring the XBox brand, and european XBone sales not being that great (at least compared with regular PS4 numbers there), will the XBone sell enough systems to close and surpass the gap? I think the PS4 will take the lead, even if it's just by a couple hundred units.

This is about npd. Not Europe.

I think Halo 5 will give Oct to Xb one, but I think the gap will be not as big as people might have thought at the start of the year.

Only reason.PS4 is the best console on the market.Boom!

Xbox will beat ps4 no doubt. And it'll easily be a 400k+ month for them whereas ps4 will be somewhere in the 300ks.

PS4 around 310-340k
Xbox around 410-430k

And the Europe assassin's creed syndicate bundle is NOT in America, so that will not affect NPD for Sony.

So I really see no reason to believe Microsoft won't win. November though should be all Sony.

It´s no where near as it was last year.

As anedoctely as I can be, last year I had up to 10 or 12 friends playing Destiny at eny given time. Now, I see only 3 or 4 active friends playing Destiny, two of which having been playing since launch.

But, any way. NPD says that Destiny sells better on the XOne .

Halo though.

If Sony drops the PS4 price on Paris Game Weak I think anything can happen, otherwise te XOne wins easilly.

No it doesn't. Do you know how numbers work? 6+3 is higher than 4+4.
