The bone might even overtake the ps4 in the us and uk but playstation will just dominate ww.

Come now, sometimes you need to know when to draw a line lol

That wont happen on either territory. They may win this holiday but not as much as they did last year, so to overtake ps4 just by this holiday there just no way it can happen. The fact that PS4 has better bundle this year than their last holiday position them better. They might even have a chance to win november. So realistically speaking, it won't happen.

People are really underestimating the Halo effect and the X1 bundles. I think X1 is set up pretty well for the holiday and MS have their strategy ready to go. Mark my words we will see a $300 X1 this holiday with the Lego game bundles and Gears bundle. Fallout bundle for $350 and we might even see the Halo LE bundle down to $400.

Halo will just sell consoles, huge amounts of consoles. People are very quick to call these bundles failures before they release. Nobody really preorders bundles unless they are LE bundles like the PS4 Blops, Star Wars and TTK bundles. The bundles with just an extra game wont really have an effect until release.

I really have no idea how the holidays will go but my money is on the X1 just because of Halo and MS aggressive black friday deals.

Well if bold happens, it will probably happen because the Halo effect is not at the same level of what a "Halo effect" is usually.

That's not entirely true. In August 2007, the Xbox 360 got a price cut, a month before Halo 3, and it was a huge success.

I know this is small and probably doesn't mean much, but when I go to stores like best buy and target lately, such as today, they would have like 8-10 Xbox ones and only a single ps4.

Again this probably doesn't mean much, but it does seem to correlate to the recent poor showing in Amazon recently.

I think Halo 5 is sucking all the oxygen out of XB one sales now. The number of people looking to buy a Xb one right now but are not interested in Halo 5 is just really low. People are either waiting for Halo 5 or they are waiting until closer to the holidays. I think Xb one sales are going to be very low for the next few weeks, the question is whether the Halo 5 boost can make up the deficit. In theory it should, because PS4 doesn't have a AAA exclusive new release coming this month, and by the look of things PS4 won't have a price cut. So while PS4 is easily leading for the time being, it could be that sales are also on the low-ish side meaning the absolute deficit is not that big and it's easy for the Halo 5 boost to overcome it.

Halo 5 bundle has been up for pre-order for a long time. Even at a relatively low pre-order rate now it's all going to be accumulating to one big boost int he NPD numbers, along with the people who buy their Xb one on Halo 5 day one.

That was before, not after, and 360 was playing from the front, not trying to play catch up.

Good point. Back then, they really didn't need to do a price cut. Now they're in 2nd, they better hope Halo 5 drives console sales. However, I think no matter what they'll be dropping the price at some point this holiday.

A good start is half the battle, they say.

I'll be watching you, Wazowski. Always watching....

Seems that since their release dates are nearing, Sony should be stepping it up with their Battlefront and Black Ops III marketing pretty soon.
