Well he did make me fall off my couch at first, because I had never seen anything quite so ridiculous as a fat terrorist on roller blades, but that was about the extent of the ownage lol

The gameplay to me was terribly awkward, which made the fairly responsive enemies more of a pain than a rewarding challenge, Raider was an annoying loser, the pacing was terrible, the plot was convoluted as fuck and made no sense until the very end, and some of those "awesome memorable sequences" to me are memorable for the wrong reasons.

For example, taking down 20 Metal Gears in like 10 minutes.....sure, sounds awesome in theory, I certainly remember it. But I remember it because as the game that introduced me to MGS, all I could think was "Wow these Metal Gears are a total joke." One guy with a rocket launcher takes out 20 like they're nothing? Why would anybody ever be worried about these things?

Well, I could understand not liking the plot if MGS2 was your first, given that it heavily relies on you having played MGS2. And Metal Gear Ray's are supposed to be the worst Metal Gear of them all. They're merely anti-Metal Gears, but as far as I know, Raiden (any rocket-equipped soldier, actually) beat them and then Solid with REX manages to destroy another one. Even for the lulz, in Revengeance Raiden takes down another Metal Gear Ray. It's just that with the correct blueprints, they're easily developed.

That being said, the Metal Gear(s) in general are among the easiest bosses in the whole franchise.

Can't help on the awkwardness, that's up to each!

Honestly, MGS4 is my favourite. Sure, it had lots and lots of cutscenes, but I generally play MG for its story, and I feel 4 had the best story. Gameplay was also really good too.

Which I can respect, but can't understand. I mean, the game is awesome from beginning to end, and the only rocky moment I can think of is the whole E.E. section, which drags too much and it's completely meaningless at the end, save for Snake and Otacon's bro fisting handshake. The gameplay is superb, the enemies are clever (though nowadays you can exploit the AI pretty easily), tons of easter eggs and references only rivalized by MGS3 (Now that I mention it, MGS4 and 5 kinda dropped this, hard), awesome story and some really memorable sequences, like taking down twenty Metal Gears.

I bet Fatman owned your ass and that's why you have such sour memory of the game.

Those Metal Gears are supposed to be trash. They were cheaply made.

A tie between MGS1 and MGS3.

I might have to go with this answer too. They're both so damn good. If one is better than the other, it's only by the slimmest of margins.

MGS2 I quit playing because I hated Raiden.

But why would anyone hate Raiden?

It's not really Raiden they hate, it's Rose... goddamn Rose... I just wanna save my game... SHUT THE FUCK UP ROSE!

OT: The first is still the best, iconic characters (heroes and vilains), captivating story when very interesting plot twists and while the gameplay is not the most evolved of the series, it's the one I had the most fun with.

I like MGS1 the best as a whole, but its gameplay hasn't aged too well. MGS2 on the other hand is a lot like MGS1 but I think it's better. It has more cutscenes, even to an extent where I think there's slightly too much of them, but its gameplay has aged much better than MGS1's. So my two favourites are MGS1 and MGS2, and if I have to pick just a single one, it's MGS2.

I also like MGS3 a lot, but it's a little bit too menu-heavy and its bosses aren't as memorable (as characters) as the first two games', so I don't think it's as good as the first two. And the rest? Well, they don't come anywhere near the first three, they all have some pretty big problems in some key areas.

For me it's like this:

4 > 3 > 1 > MG2 > PW > 2 > MG > V

Best: Snake Eater
Worse: MGSV

THIS.

Probably MGS2, I think I'd have to replay all of them to really be confident in my answer.

Not V, that's pretty much a given.

Why you dont like it, its the story, gameplay ?

Voice acting seemed stiff. I think physical actors (not seasoned VA's) need to be actually going through the motions or they wind up sounding like they are readin a script.

Not as weird as 3, but kind of a watered down 3. I did highly enjoy the fire pegasus/unicorn though. It was pretty freaking cool.

Open world was cool, and I like how you could interrigate people and kidnapp them to build up your base, but I a lot of times it was saying I was going outside of the mission area so the traveling in the open world sometimes was very limited. It was also a little strange to be filing up your base with the russian army.

Last, though honestly I can't justify this myself, people say the ending was kind of crap. But I didn't even take this into consideration as I haven't beat it yet.

MGS 3 I think was the best at pulling off what it meant to.
