They haven't gone down the rout i'd have chosen (i'd have preferred them to compromise graphics rather than IQ, since the latter has a much more direct effect on my gameplay experience), but irrespective of personal opinion, the overall package seems to have come together very nicely.
On a side note, I'm really looking forward to trying out the SP. They seem to be taking a lot more narrative risks, which is exactly what i originally wanted from halo 4.

I loved the beta and that was a 720p version.
I will take fps over resolution any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
Makes you wonder how people could play on PS3 and 360... "1080p or nothing..."

The OP talks about performance not about graphic power, and there is already some subjects trying to find the bad side, of course it has to be some sacrifices when you have a rock solid 60 fps, but the overall preview of the game, graphic and performance wise, is very possitive in the article, wich is what I refelct on the OP, while some others are already calling it a mess because some obvious sacrifices that does not affect gameplay at all. |
I don't particularly agree with the conclusions some people have come to, but i disagree with the bolded. Everything, whether it be graphics, art style, IQ, frame-rate, music, or even the story, can have a direct impact on how much someone enjoys gameplay. You don't have to excel at all of them, but all can contribute to the end result. How much depends entirely on the game, and the person playing.

Saying the game looks like H4 isn't a diss, H4 still looks great by even next gen standards and H5 looks even better.

No one here is claiming that a full 1080p is an inherent necessity, so let's not throw the thread into a discussion there's obviously no need for. There's a very big difference between someone feeling that, and simply believe [x] would have been better than [y]. The whole point in a new generation is to expand on what [x] and [y] can be, and there is will always be disagreement as to how to balance those potential new progressions. Such discussion is healthy (if a little repetitive at times :p).

I think it's definitely an insult (though not an accurate one regardless), but i do agree on the latter. Halo 4 in the MCC could have easily past as an 8th gen title. Not a very technically impressive one, but that it could sit there at all speaks volumes to how well it was made for the 360.

Game looks great and seems to perform well. I will have to see how it looks on my own screen before deciding on such a trivial thing.
It is near the end of the end....
