Take your favorite hd console games on the go
VS
Make your low res portable game not portable and put on TV

I.e. It is easier to promote a handheld through a console, it is harder for a handheld to promote a console. This is why mobile games like angry birds aren't as big on console as they are on mobile

Mobile games are largely different play experiences to handheld games. They aren't the same. A game like Angry Birds isn't comparable to a game like ALBW.

Point is, in one case you are porting a large game to a mobile setting to compete against smaller games(ps4 to vita).

Console games are larger than handheld by nature.

in the other case (3ds to wii u), you are porting smaller games to compete against larger games.

the two consoles are too different, they'll try to do that with NX :v

I don't see the problem, they already did this with the supernes/gameboy, and it was great.

try to make a Disk compatible with a 3DS Cartridge and then let me know :v

of course sales would fall. a lot of the reason to own a nintendo handheld in the first place is because games like pokemon are only available on it.

i think game selection rather than form factor is a more important role in the buying decision of a nintendo handheld, especially these days.

I would vehemently argue against that. Form factor is a huge reason why I own my 3DS. Like obviously the games are important, but I constantly find myself wishing I could play some console games on a portable platform. I especially had this issue with MGSV, where I couldn't get into it, but playing MGS3 on the 3DS during my breaks at work made it a much more consumable experience.

Most people don't want that sadly. :( It's a shame as I love the few high end Vita titles there are. Perfect experience on the go.

Especially in the West, handheld gaming is pretty much finished it would seem. The only viable way I see for the market to continue, is for some convergence with the home console offering for Nintendo's next system.

Yeah, you're right.... and I don't see a single USB port they could use either, nope.

Because they wouldn't be able to sell the "same game" twice per iteration;

They wait for NX.

They could do this for VC games. But for full budget releases, its because the software sells on its own and they don't need to do it for the sake of pushing handheld sales.

Even more impossible to do it with digital games.

Because the 3DS is a lot weaker than the Wii U so they would have to compromise a lot to make both work
