Doubt it. I'm really fearful of the extent of their 3rd party support at all. Nintendo does nothing to entice that audience to buy their platforms, and if there's no one to buy 3rd party games, third parties will not stay. Nintendo needs exclusive IP that caters to those audiences, especially in the west, and they've made absolutely no obvious moves that makes me think they get that.

Yes, but that's a problem too. If they create new IPs to attract that audience, the most probable outcome is that only the Nintendo loyalist will get them. If they get deals with 3rd parties to make exclusive games for their system, most of the bigger publishers will refuse to do it because they fear low sales. And if they just talk to publishers to get regular 3rd parties, most people will just stay on their console, because it already has the games they need.

The most benefitial part of a Fusion system is that will double the 1st party software output. That will help to avoid droughts, but they'll need more help. Fortunately, the NX seems to be the only dedicated 9th gen handheld, so a lot of japanese studios that worked for the PSP/Vita might jump on board, and it will get a lot of ports cattering to the japanese audience.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Not if they did it right. If Nintendo made a western studio and had them make a game like TLOU or Destiny, it would attract the polar opposite audience. That's the issue. Nintendo loyalists aren't interested in those games. Nintendo needs new players who are. And I don't mean 3rd party exclusives. I mean first party exclusives. They don't need franchises that can run away. They need franchises that will stay and be quality. Kojima is free right now. This is the perfect opportunity to get the talent of a man who knows how to make games that appeal to an audience Nintendo doesn't cater to, just as an example. Have him make a new IP for them. Not a knock off MGS either. A bonafied original idea. There's so much talent they could find like that. Ken Levine, too. That's how they make the NX successful.

Contrary to popular belief, Nintendo's biggest issue is appealing to a wide audience.

Hell no. They learnt their lesson from Chinatown Wars. Massive install base. Exceptional critical reception. Fuck all sales.

Well, Nintendo needs more studios period, both western and eastern. But I see what you mean. Western audiences are not so keen to Nintendo as japanese audiences (WiiU sales are close to PS4 sales in Japan, that's impossible elsewhere). If I were them I would create another brand for their western games and mature games. That way, audiences won't be scared of by Nintendo's "kiddy" brand, and Nintendo can preserve its family-friendly image.

Did any rockstar title released on nintendo? There you have it.

Bully, and Manhunt 2, of all things, got wii ports, and then there's chinatown wars but yeah, rockstar and nintendo don't exactly have a strong relationship.  Supposedly rockstar north has a very sour outlook on nintendo going back to the n64 days though it's hard to say how much of it is mere speculation and rumor.  Still, I doubt take two would consider it a viable use of resources to port gta v to the nx, the game will be at least three years old by the time the nx releases and already available across two console generations and pc.  Pretty much everyone who has wanted to play the game has already.

No, but maybe GTA VI.

No
New device = new games

REQUIESCAT IN PACE

I Hate REMASTERS

I Hate PLAYSTATION PLUS

Hard to say, since we still basically know next to nothing on the NX :/
