Luckily, VGC doesn't make a distinction between home and handheld hardware in the sales graph

Without distinction it would look more like this ;)

But with no Vita and only one Nintendo console there will only be 3 graphs and, unless ioi decides to put NX as a handheld and give it the 100% market share, which would be silly, all the three machines will compete with each other.

Btw, that's only true if the NX is a single device, something that I don't belive. I'm on the camp that believe of a NX handheld and a NX home console,

I think that when the Nintendo NX handheld or home console is announced, the first minutes and hours after (but overall the first 30 minutes after the console is unveiled) the VGChartz server will be very slow (even worse than Club Nintendo) and will break.

At the same time, I think if its disappointing (hardware wise or launch title wise) the blow it ll deal will be a hard one to swallow.

If the Wii U goes out at like 15m units sold lifetime, and the NX doesnt perform good (sales wise), alot of people will be basically proclaiming nintendo dead.
